"Sunny 99.1" coming May 7th

The Sunny Web page has a poster for the new format.

Today 99.1 is "Occupy 99.1" playing protest songs. Interesting stunt but many of the songs being played are way off the Sunny playlist. The construction noises sounded better than some of these clunkers.

So, how will the new station sound? What stations in other markets are doing this type of format? Sounds to me like a mix of Oldies and Standards in kind of a Jack sound.
 
This is a translator, correct? Would not the constructions sounds be considered original programming? Has anyone identified what local station HD 2, 3,AM or otherwise where Sunny 99.1 will get their programming from? There must be something similar on the air up there. Translators can’t originate their own programming.

Since they are not blowing off an audience to re-brand ... for a startup to play songs not in the intended format seems..., well what do I know I'm not in radio. Especially now if someone accidentally finds it and is turned off...or worse, they do like it and tomorrow it changes... Best of luck tsm...

I hear them ID as WQSH Malta HD2....so I think that covers the legal requirements.... That "translator" has a better signal than some of the "Class A" FM stations in this market!!!!
 
So far “Sunny 99.1” is living up to its name literally. Every song since their midnight sign on has a reference to Old Sol. This might work fine as a gimmick for the first few days but it has to wear off eventually and be a turn off factor. It would be like Magic playing only songs like “That Old Black Magic”. Will there be a morning show? Have any jocks been hired? Facebook users or insiders help me out.

Can't this area get a real alternative to the Clear Channel Oldies clone? Everytime I try to listen to TRY it's the same oldie I've heard over one million times.
 
Yeah- I hope the "sunny-song" references cool down after a bit.

In the past half-hour a programming (computer) glitch ran the SAME set, twice in a row ... with House of the Rising Sun,
Aquarius/Let the Sun Shine & others being heard twice within a 25 min period! :D
