Sunny Dumps Easy Listening, Turns Into Jack for 45+ Listeners

Sunny 24 has dropped easy listening music and has become a bizarre shuffle play mix of songs from the 1940's-today. It honestly sounds like a Jack format for 45+ listeners. Totally bizarre and guaranteed to drive anyone not used to a segue from Jimmy Dorsey to Yanni far, far away.

I guess they didnt like the FORCED COMMERCIALS that clear channel wanted on there........How stupid is all this????????? (VERY!!)

Sunny is programmed by CC now not Xm (hence the reason why theres no artist/song title info) The only sunny lives on with Escape (XM78?)

What songs they play on Sunny-XM to become a JACK formact?? is it very close to a JACK formact or is it like light A/C type?

No, it's an AC format, but features everything from swing to light oldies. Elton John to Elvis to Michael Buble. to smooth jazz. Quite pleasant if you're into the formats and variety, and smart of CC to make it different from 78-Escape.

It's broader than a traditional A/C format, at times sounding like a shuffle format like Jack (only with music aimed at older listeners). It's not playing the same music as a Jack station would, just using the same kind of "shuffle" play technique. They have gone beyond traditional A/C with transitions from big band into new age into jazz into 70s pop and even into a blues song yesterday. The big problem with the format is that it is too broad and I can imagine someone listening to a song or three and then leaving when the first song hits that is too far outside of the traditional A/C format.

Sunny isn't the Jack station........Mix is starting to look like a Jack-FM format

Call it what you want but I for one welcome the change even with commercials but have yet to hear any. What a great mix of music, the classic standards along with pop standards. Thanks XM and CC!!

I love the new Sunny CM. The more I listened this past weekend, the more I enjoyed it. Now the question is, will CC try and format this on any of their stations. I thought the mix from the 40s to today worked just fine.

Gotta admit, I've been checking it out quite a bit just to see what's playing. Also been checking out the new Mix. I don't look forward to the addition of commercials, but so far, it sounds like they've provided a couple of interesting formats.
