Most of Tesh's affiliates are 7-mid (head to head vs. Delilah)... he's on about 200 stations, and has already had other stations pick him up for "daytime" dayparts....there are a handful (WJBR included) that are "grandfathered in" in overnights, but there aren't many left with the show in that daypart, and the Tesh folks are converting them out of that slot, or moving the show to different stations in a better daypart in those remaining "overnight" market (ie-thats how he moved to Hot AC, KPLZ/Seattle for 7-mid, from being on the soft ac previously). He's also on in a few different formats.
The other thing is they offer his show either WITH mainstream/bright ac music, via Satellite, but they also offer Tesh's show via "voicetrack" where stations can use his content, imaging, production stuff, etc, but use their own playlist. That is likely how he's doing the Xmas music thing during AM Drive on Sunny, while other stations are running him with different music. He's on Hot AC's (KIOI/San Fran, KDMX/Dallas, KPLZ/Seattle), lots of mainstream AC's, Oldies (KGOR/Omaha), Smooth Jazz (KSMJ/Bakersfield for AM Drive, and CIQX/Calgary for mid-days), and even a Contemp. Christian AC (WVFJ/Atlanta), all of which excpet for the mainstream ones, are likely using the voicetrack version.
> Two notes:
>
> (1) According to Yes.com, WBEB-101.1 is still programing
> it's normal AC format as of 4:15 P.M. EST.
>
> I am surprised WBEB didn't flip to all-Christmas within
> fifteen minutes of Sunny's having done so.
>
> I am also a little surprised that Sunny and B didn't take
> the plunge this past Tuesday (November 1st).
>
> (2) WSNI-104.5 is, as far as I know, the first station to
> run John Tesh's syndicated show in morning drive. His show
> runs nights in many cities, overnights in others (especially
> on stations that also run Delilah during the evening).
>
> If Sunny finds considerable success with Tesh, many other AC
> stations may decide to follow suit and drop their local
> morning shows in favor of Tesh. After all, replacing a local
> morning show with a syndicated show reduces a station's
> airstaff budget.
