Super Bowl Commentaries: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

Because my 49ers are playing I broke my rule against watching the biggest time waster in all American TV. I haven't changed my mind about this laughing matter of a foot game - anglo style.

The game began with the 9ers roaring down the field only to cough it up approaching the red zone. Whereupon the Chiefs suffered three consecutive sacks and punted it away.

Then SF's Greenway stumbled walking onto the field and crunched his pinkie toe....out for the game.

Neither team was a ball of fire with the first half ending 10-3. A score befitting Detroit vs Little Sisters of the Poor.

Halftime show was typical Las Vegas junk-a-rama (meaning every cheap stage show you've ever seen).

The second half opened with a Mahomes interception. So much for gettin' greasy with the game.

And as I write this the camera is showing all the "pretty people" who matter not.

And who the hell is the color guy? Did they hire him for his WWE voice? Irritating beyond belief!

No good commercials yet either. Total waste.

To me, it was some of the best dancing and staging ever. The red piano was so extreme!

To you, perhaps. To the vast majority of Americans, yes.

I thought the "effort to recover" by Bud Light was excellent. Several others had very strong creative.

This has been a bad football game so far. The commercials have been even worse, and the halftime show worse than that.

And as far as Tony Romo is concerned, he needs to dump the bad comedy. He's OK when he sticks to football, but that's it.

I have too, but I wanted the Chiefs to win again, after suffering through the Elvis Grbac years and how Lin Elliott somehow was terrible after being great with the Cowboys.
Elvis Grbac I remember him with the 49ers back in the 1990's. He was part of the times when the 49ers were at their peak when Steve Young and Jerry Rice were the big stars on the team.

Best ad of the night for me is the Kia ad, featuring the young ice skater and using the Kia to go find grandpa.
Runner up: Paramount+ UEFA Champions league ad, using the UEFA anthem after G.F. Handel. Nicely targeted.

There were a lot of ads where the product being advertised was unclear.

We personally enjoyed watching the game on Nickelodeon much funnier and way less obnoxious commentary.

I notice most often when the OP posts, he thinks something is a waste or bad simply because he doesnt like it/doesnt think its good/bad idea and the only perogative/interests in media/the best idea are his and if it doesnt fit his presumably old white guy ideals, it sucks.
