Support WRKO AM 680!!

Good gawd... Savage is a freakin' Nazi! I don't think I've ever heard anyone with more of an anger management problem than Michael Savage.

The name calling...unacceptable! Please if you will, find words less offensive to the majority. Thanks man!! :) :D

Until such time as you become the moderator, he can use any language the moderator finds acceptable. Until such time as you can prove that you have polled everyone who reads and posts here, do not presume to speak for the majority.

What people like you never seem to understand is that radio has ALWAYS been in the hands of large corporations. What do you think RKO-General, the owners of WRKO in the time period covered by wrko.org, was? A mom-and-pop operating out of a shed in the woods?

The talent you lionize is gone, and there won't be a pool of that kind of talent again. This business has changed, some for good and some for not so good, but it is not the way it was in the 1970s and never will be again. Playing music on the AM band is a sure-fire death wish, unless you don't care about making money, which is what the radio *business* is about and always has been about. Dreaming is nice, but it's just that...a dream. The "action" you're wishing for will not happen. Deal with it.

I realize this thread seems rather crazy and bizarre to some here in Radio-land. Although, We all know that many of us radio lovers here in Boston used our words on these threads to criticize many of the decisions made by those decision makers in this business of broadcasting. The idea of supporting WRKO AM 680 when they make a decision that we ALL (or maybe many) believe is right, has to be more important than continually pointing out their faults. It's important for us true radio lovers to inspire and remind the decision makers of our love and passion for this business of radio. Then and only then will we ALL feel that thing of success for what we each bring to the table. My Jerry McGuire moment has ended.... :) :D ;D

So go ahead, I dare you...:) Polish off those demos, acquired skills and all those great dreams and show 'em what we're made of and what true radio is supposed to be!! Hopefully they're listening....

WRKO address: 20 Guest Street, Third Floor Brighton, MA 02135-2040. Main Number: (617) 779-3400

No business deliberately lives 40 years in the past and simultaneously expects to remain in business. Heck, I grew up listening to WRKO during those years too, and it was probably the best radio we had in Boston at the time. But this is not 40 years ago, and to expect to just simply flip a switch and return to that kind of radio when the radio business and the listening tastes and habits of the public have changed is only a dream and will remain so.

what?? what are you talking about!! this is a radio board not cnbc r something!!

Of course OreoJoe is right, but unfortunately we can't go back now with all the big corporations owning everything.
It would be great if for just one weekend like they did some years ago on the Forth of July weekend play the "Greatest Hits of 1968 on 68".
Also because OreoJoe is right people are turning to other sources than standard radio, like the internet.
