Syndication for 2025-26

I KNOW LOCAL STATIONS ARE GOING TO HAVE A BIG HOLD TO FILL NOW THAT ACCESS HOLLYWOOD HAS BEEN CANCELLED

Please stop shouting.

This has been discussed to death in the thread about NBCUniversal discontinuing first-run syndication in the aftermath of Kelly Clarkson quitting her show.

A lot of stations in smaller markets are going to have the bigger problem in filling the Access Hollywood time slots ... while larger stations could conceivably do an extra half-hour of news (for example, KNBC/4 in L.A. already does a local half-hour newscast between NBC Nightly News and Access Hollywood) as the market size declines, so do available resources for that.

I have also offered the opinion that Access Hollywood might simply be transferred to the NBC Owned Stations division and continue in production. But if that option is to be exercised, it will have to be soon as the new season is now less than six months away.

And it's "hole" not "HOLD".

I wonder if NBC would let O&Os and affiliates air the live national news from NBC’s streaming channel NBC News Now?

That's a possibility, unless there are contractual issues preventing it. There is too much we simply do not know at this point.

I think his laptop keyboard is messed up.

Either that or no one has ever explained to him that in the online world, typing in all caps is the equivalent of screaming at the top of your voice, and often results in -- at the least -- a lot of people putting you on ignore.

No it isn’t. He has been told constantly (by me in particular) to turn off his caps lock. His excuses are lame when he has been told how to fix it. If you still believe him that it’s ’broke’ then we can’t help you.
I think he’s also said capital letters are easier for him to read. That doesn’t sound like an excuse to me.

In that case, two things he should be aware of come to mind:

1. It's not him who reads his posts, it's us, and we don't like all caps.
2. He's not going to get us to start doing that, so I guess he will have to put up with our posts being harder for him.

(You're right ... not much of an excuse. Excuse me while I go see if Lance has any rules about this.)

I like to think he's a time traveler who thinks this forum works like a Western Union telegram
