Talent You Miss

Anyone heard from Lynn Kratz? She took a job at MMR and that was the last we heard from her.

de wsan

Michael Tearson speaks with her from time to time. He'll know what she's up to.

She also worked at WIOQ in the late 70's into the 80's. Last I heard, she got her Masters in some capacity related to the library, and was working in the Philadelphia Free Library system.

Summer isn't the same without Andy Musser. Retirement benn berry, berry goood to heeem.

Any word on Nat Wright?

Ken Garland.

Got a chance to meet him once when I was a fledgling radioite in college. He was very gracious to my friend & I when we talked to him at the WIP "Wildhorse Saloon" talent night in NJ.

I agree, Ken was the most gracious person I met from the 610/950 days. Many, many fond memories of Ken and the time he dedicated to me. Will never be forgotten.

Regards.

In no particular order....

Bill Bransomme, KYW sports

Doug Henderson on the FM band

The Mighty Burner Sonny Hopson

Bob Bradley handling Phillies pre and post game duties on The Great Entertainer, Channel 17.

Byrum Saam calling Alex Johnson going back to the wall, bangins his head off the wall, picking it up and firing to third

Charlie Swift's catch phrase "check that" most notably applied when "Touchdown, Oakland!" was followed by "we're playing Kansas City."

Hy Lit in his mid 1960's prime, especially on the Sunday night "Hall of Fame."

"Good evening world!" at approximately 6:03 pm about as far to the left on the dial as you could get by a King.

The Frogmen playing "Underwater" on Wibbage weeknights by Philadelphia's most happy Feller.

KYW's Jessica Savitch and her physical appearance.

The Football Pros with Charlie Gauer, Jack McKinney and Andy Musser.

Bill Campbell's reflections on WIP.

The Grass Roots playing on both Wibbage and FIL with a station ID serving as the talkover.

WHAT when it applied a Drake Chennault format to uniquely Philly music.

Mort Crim

Don Henderson taking Flyer questions and answering them with baseball analogies to sound knowledgable.

Al Meltzer and Beef Vetrone doing 76er games.

Andy Musser and Sonny Hill as a team.

And push to shove, life depends on a most of all, Harry and His Whiteness.

A lot of the WTMR talent were refugees from WCAU when WCAU fired most of its talent & brought in a whole new roster. Bill Bircher was one of the most underrated talk show hosts who ever worked in the Philadelphia market. Great dry sense of humor. Perfect morning personality.

Great reading about all the jocks that worked Philly when I was growing up there. In 1969 I went to Jerry Blavats Broadcasting School, Sid Marks of Frank Sinatra fame was one of my instructors. worked in lower Delaware radio, have been working Las Vegas radio since 1975. There was a guy named George Bailey that was doing traffic for Wibbage. Where is he? Thanks for the memories. Charles Berberian (aka) Chuck Manning
