Perhaps a nice severance? Paid-out his contract? Either of those are pretty standard, even with termination.
"See this big check and continued benefits? They can be yours if you sign this paper agreeing to stay off the air in this market for six months."
It's not just a WGY thing. It's a radio thing. Would you say NO?
Now if PV is interested in AR, and I do mean IF, they either wait or get a lawyer to try and change that agreement...which may involve paying some of the dough back.....but those deals are usually pretty sound.
