I think the reason the Atlanta rock station is called Project 9-6-1 reflect the stations attitude towards being a radio PROJECT that is always evolving, building, adjusting the music, personalities, the promotions, the lifestyle promotions...etc. ALL THAT stuff that a young-ish rock audience is wanting in Atlanta.
AND BTW major ratings increase since the flip 6 months ago doing a lifestyle rock station with jocks that get out with the people. 96rock played Fleetwood Mac/Elton John/Boston/Doobies. That s*#t sucks if you're under 30. Actually it just sucks.
If the new K-ROCK wants to connect and superserve the young male rock music fans (of which there are a lot) they need to bring in some new radio voices for a new New York audience and look out for those lifestyle events to get involved with exactly like PROJECT/ATLANTA and other hugely successfull stations (KROQ/LA).
Sorry Dash Riprock, but RIP 96rock. Nice run, but its time for a new generation of rock fans to get theirs.
K-ROCK and others will show rock that rocks is back!
