Taylor Swift

I like some of her music, But there overplaying her

I heard "Blank Space" like 12 times today -- Love the song, But still

I don't understand the notion of people overplaying her or anyone. Why wouldn't stations want to give people more variety? Just because they are scared of other sources to get their music (online, for example) does not make sense why those who actually want to listen to music should have to be subjected to such narrow playlists, which insult one's intelligence. There is still a need for radio in people's cars, so choosing to beat people over the head with the "stereotypical" popular songs is not right, IMO.

^ it's probably becausethe audience wants to hear popular songs and they want to hear them a lot. If people didn't want to hear the hits and hear them often, CHRs and Hot ACs (which have been developing a more CHR approach) wouldn't have the high ratings that they do.

Remember, radio is a business, not a hobby.

I saw an article about a group that cleans up popular songs so kids could listen. I was surprised to see "Blank Space" on the list because surely Taylor's music is kid-friendly.

Alot of people dont listen to the radio long so they want to hear the current hits thats why the top songs will get 10+ plays a day.

Taylor is smoking right now "bad blood" just hit #1 after only 5 wks on the billboard top 40 airplay chart & thats her 4th #1 from her latest cd.

With that 3 month free deal by Apple, Ms. Swift threw a hissy-fit about it

Yeah, She didn't get paided for it, She makes enought on her CD's, Tours ect

I agree with the artist here. Apple has a larger amount of unencumbered cash than any company in the world. Swift's stand about "subsidizing" Apple's launch caused Apple to reverse its original plan not to pay any artists during the launch period. Now all are receiving payment for the use of their music.

How much money they have shouldn't matter. In the digital world, artists are supposed to be partners. They share in revenues, not profits, of the service. So it makes sense that they should share in the risk.

Here's what Taylor's label head said with regards to Spotify: "Will we give music away? Yes, in the beginning, when we’re trying to turn you on to a new band, a new artist; yes, we want you to hear it. That’s part of our investment. Just like with any trial, if you like it and want to continue to use it, you’re going to have to pay for it. Daniel [Ek] just forgot that part of the equation."

If they're willing to give their music away to introduce new artists, they should feel the same way when they're launching a new service. They're partners. If this new Apple service succeeds, it will be good for them. So why not share in the risk?

I am quite astounded that this song has made it to the upper rungs of the AC chart! I assume this is the non-rap version but it still seems very un-AC like, even in this day and age.
I would say this is probably not the Neil Sedaka song I like, but once she got hold of it, it wouldn't be nearly that good anyway.

i actually like the rap version better - gives it more energy & this way they get more rhythmic spins.

headings towards 5 wks #1 on top 40 airplay.

I don't like it, Prob would have done good without the Rap

When he's not rapping his part, Towards the end of the song he gruns, Like I'm still in the song

They did it with E.T by Katy Perry by adding Kayne West to it, Wasn't needed
