Technical Issues at DRC-FM

Poor Larry Wells . . . . The 1 O'Clock top of the hour sweep was just sheer Hell for him. 5 seconds of a tune would play and then DEAD AIR (omg). This repeated 3 or 4 times until the situation apparently was corrected. If I'm not mistaken, DRC-FM runs all of their program content from hard drives. Can anyone verify??Regards,DJ Jim Wayne

They've run their programming from hard drives since 1996. Sounds like a computer glitch. Time to reach for a backup CD!

A couple of months ago, I heard two spins of Stevie Wonder's "If You Really Love Me" that ended abruptly just before the final verse. Several agonizing seconds of dead air each time before (the first time) the next scheduled song and (the second time) a commercial. I guess the jock it happened to the first time didn't leave a note about it, so it happened at least once more. I heard the song again a few days ago and it played all the way through.

Between the on again, off again audio quality it's little surprise that their automation system isn't the most stable thing on the block. I pity the poor airstaff who must have to put up with that junk. I guess Buckley either doesn't have decent engineering staff for their Connecticut cluster or the guys are spending too much time on maintaining the AM's.FWIW: On the AM web site there's a posting seeking air talent for DRC-FM.

I'm just curious and went to look for it, but couldn't find it..

With Mike Stevens, perhaps?
Maybe, but the posting was there in spite of of the fact Mike was already back for awhile. Either their webmaster is really sloooow or there was another position for someone else to fill.I never did check the FM web site jobs link to see if it was there, but it was there on the AM side at the date and time I posted the entry above.BillCapitalRadio.usThe Oldies Revolution
