Ted Nation on 98.5

from http://www.bostonsportsmedia.com

>>Former WEEI nighttime host Ted Sarandis has a new sports talk show, as 98.5 The Sports Hub announced today that he will be joining the station effective immediately.
Sarandis’ show, like his old WEEI program will be called the “Ted Nation Show” and debuts this Sunday, March 14th from 7:00pm to 10:00pm This first show will focus on the NCAA tournament selections which will be announced that day. The show will begin its regular Sunday afternoon time slot in April.

(funky guitar, Jim Cutler...)
It's a Ted Nation (it's a Ted Nation)
(WEEI. Roger...) (repeat a few times then add "we're all baseball heads")

It's a great day for Ray from Lynn...I remember him calling in to the first Planet Mikey show
to say how disappointed he was that Ted was gone from 850...

this is sweet news i used to love his show and i belive he worked more then mikey does that guy takes more days off then anyone i know

Ted was always uptight and humorless... I remember when 1510 was in one of its countless sports radio phases and there was a local show (I'm tempted to say the host's name was the Captain and I know he passed away) against Ted--the ads said "tired of humorless sports radio?" But at least Ray, indeed, will have someplace to prattle on for 20 minutes about 23rd round baseball draft picks.

Pass.

Will Ted Nation still do play by play B.C. basketball for WEEI ?

I think he, and Meter, actually work for some sports network (ISP or something like that) and 'EEI's deal is with that network.

Ray from Lynn lives again. The most boring caller in the history of radio.

I remember when he called in to another show and started on his minor league report and they cut him off after a minute or so... I think it was Dale and Neumy

If you took Ted Sarandis, and then added him to Mike Adams......THEN divided by 2......you would actually wind up with a couple of farily decent sports-talk hosts. ;D

Give me a "back-in-the-day", "in-his-prime" Eddie Andleman any old day......

Um, the most boring caller in the history of radio is anyone who calls "J.T. The Brick" and yells a rehearsed/scripted rant (i.e. anyone he doesn't hang up on).

Ray from Lynn was always a good listen, IMO.

JT wants his callers to "be prepared". So have your script ready and don't sound like you're half asleep.
He really wishes Butch from the Cape, "the greatest caller in sports talk radio" were still around. Too bad
Butch didn't live to see the Sox win it all in '04 and '07 (though he'd just point out the Sox still need to win quite a few more to match the Yankees' record). Now that Garciaparra has retired he could recite
that bit of conjugation he used to do: "Nomar, no mas...no more." :)

My idea is. Fox Sports Radio Bruce Jacobs Sunday show is currently on 8pmeast-11pm.

So why don't they put Ted on 7pm-11pm?

Currently Fox Sports Radio Sunday 11pm-1am is an NBA Recap Show hosted by Sean Farnham

What do you all think of Bruce Jacobs? Currently he is on Fox Sports Radio Saturday night 8pm-Midnight and Sunday 8pm-11pm. Your thoughts on this host? Why and why not?
How about other hosts on Fox Sports Radio? Why and why not?

agree
You heard John Fricke? He's currently on Saturday and Sunday mornings on Fox Sports Radio. He mostly talk about Football, College Football, Basketball, College Basketball. Those are usually his major topics. This host is good.

the OG Sports Huddle, at least. Some of the comedy bits they had on that show were hysterical. Yawkey Jeans, in tight, extra-tight and "oh my heavens, did you see that?" sizes. Roxbury Shrinkafella ski reports. Ask The Manager with Don Zimmer. The Canary Freeze commercial with "Pat Summerfall." I need to rip some of those bits to MP3 one of these days.

To tell the truth, I've never listened to JT. I know who he is, but I've never listened to his show. My problem with Ray from Lynn is that he could be reading names out of a phonebook for all I, and I'm sure most of the other listeners, know. His voice is a drone that could put me to sleep. I'm a baseball fan, but I have no interest in listening to him go on and on about class A minor leaguers. That's his one and only topic. All things considered he's very boring but there are many others who are more obnoxious....Danny from Quincy, Steve from Fall River et al.
