Terre Haute Market

yes and yes

No and no. Listened to WBOW-FM a little yesterday and today. No changes to staff at all. Plus still running the Crossroads Communications FCC license renewal ad. Hard to see transfer of control until that has been taken care of by the FCC.

Same goes for 1300- AM.

Assume there is some uneasy folks at 13th and Ohio. Midwest would have to look at a staff that could not produce the necessary revenue to keep it afloat very carefully.

I'm lickin' chops to see what happens....

Me to. I heard Midwest was doing some research in the market. Has anyone heard anything about the possible sale of 92.7? Plus what's going on with am 640 &. 1230? They were suppose to be up and running by now??

I was told that 107.5 won't be back, but construction permits were acquired, one station religious and one Mexican. WAXI would do well if located in Rockville and making it a "home town" radio station. Current format may need to change to. 8)

So what's going on in Terre Haute after Midwest takes control of the Crossroads Stations? Better yet, what will happen to the other CR stations that are left. Dan Lacy is not an operator and there is little to no managment inplace to run this marginal signals in a market that is over crowded with signals.

Word is that a deal is about to go down for WAXI and WSDM probably isn't too far behind. My bet is both end up being taken "home" and run as local oriented stations.

No disrespect, but how exactly is Terre Haute "over crowded" with signals? We are just a few months away from 2 companies controlling all the main signals in the town. I think the market has about the right number of signals, but not sure I agree with the FCC letting companies own more than 3 signals in a town this size.

As far as 92.7 and 104.9, neither one is overly strong in Terre Haute, but it is hard to see one buyer wanting both without a good Terre Haute signal to tie it all together. Still makes a lot of sense to me for Emmis to snatch up 92.7 for the right price (250,000k or less) and 104.9 to some mom & pop operator.
