Terry Meiner announces that he is quitting Sept. 2

Does that mean Hannity starts on WHAS after that?

Or is this some kinda joke. Guess I'll listen longer to see.

I bet terry is just tired of doing the same thing in radio after 23 years to quote bam(barrack obama)its time for a change ;D

Good luck Mr Meiners

Oh Lord I hope so. I tried listening to him when I first moved to town 10 years ago. I couldn't get through the first 10 minutes of the show and I have not listened since. Maybe they can talk Gary Burbank out of retirement or something.

When Meiners started back in 1985, he solicited guesses on how long he would last at 84 WHAS. Listeners were asked to give a date that would be his last day to win a prize ($500 or something like that). At the 2006 WAKY/WKLO reunion I asked him if there were any guesses that were still valid and Meiners said there were a few left.

Geez. Just a listener here who found the board and looks in from time to time to try to get some inside info on the radio scene. Guess there's little chance of that if I'm supplying the info, though. This is a hoax/joke/bs. He has an interview with Liza M. on Sept. 2 at 4:35pm, and he says after that his radio career is complete.

Would it be to cliche' to say get with the program?

I hope it is a joke. Terry is a good guy and is pure radio through and through. Even more sad is, there's really not much in the way of local talent to replace him and I don't mean just Louisville talent. I mean non-syndicated talent, no matter where they come from. It seems most radio companies have been more concerned with bottom lines and less about talent development. They got rid of all the part-timers in the biz, thus cutting off the entry level for young radio prospects. Radio is finding itself in quite a predicament with a dwindling talent pool. Where will the next Gary Burbank or Terry Meiners come from? I guess you can just syndicate Bubba the Love Sponge and get fart jokes all morning.
