Wouldn't shock me in the least for KXXF to be next.
Could they buy KXXF and simulcast programming??
Could they even try to move both closer to Houston and get rid of the translator??

The real obstacle is KAMA, not KHCB. If KAMA were to magically move to Missouri City (it can't without losing coverage due to stations in LaGrange, Victoria, and Bryan being too close), then that would open the door for KXXF to rimshot into Houston (if it can get KYKS and KTWL out of the way... I'm sure I'm missing a few other stations).Nope. KHCB-FM is a full Class C in Houston. Both KXXF and KTWL are as close to Houston as they can get. Notice that the KTWL construction permit and COL change involve a shift eastward towards The Woodlands, and not a shift southeast towards Houston. KHCB-FM is the reason.

Not only is this not feasible, but extremely hard. Too many parties to convince.
Or.....
You can move KTWL up north and upgrade KXXF from existing site to 100k.
It's owned by the estate of John Walton, through his LLC., Excel Media. The property and the tower is owned by KXXF.
Upgrading KXXF to 100k gives them the opportunity to go full HD and leasing HD Channels and feeding K287BQ. If you want to get fancy and have a bigger foot print buy the same transmitter for KXXF,KTWL AND K287BQ program the Rds to switch over to the closest tower and then suddenly you can cover from Louisiana to College Station
With an objection from Houston Christian Broadcasters following closely behind the filing to do so.

I sure hope the target audience lives in fantasyland, OSR. KXXF to 100,000 watts?!? Only if it's relocation involves getting parked on an oil platform out in the middle of the Gulf.
then suddenly you can cover from Louisiana to College Station way more coverage than KAMA for a fraction Univision/Heftel/Tichenor Media paid for KAMA. We see it done here in Los Angeles with KDAY and KDEY.
David, Easy fix. Make sure the signal covers where the ppm pagers are located. This Perticular signal already covers 90% of that with K287BQ. KXXF and KTWL would serve like KQBU-FM is to KAMA.
Believe me David I heard that station two weeks ago (playing top 40) covering way more than 1.5 million people.. You can pick it up loud and clear from Baytown- Richmond, from clear lake to the woodlands. It will be interesting to see if they purchase KXXF to go along with KTWL.
Again, you are confusing "hear" with "listen". I can hear dozens more stations where I live than I would listen to; the signals are too marginal; they can't be heard at home and in the car they drop out and get interference too often to make them regular choices.
Yes don't listen to me "I'm obviously out of touch" getting old.
No, not an easy fix. The stations as they are licensed don't even come close to covering 90% of the population. No amount of construction permits will ever get you 90% of the metro area population (nevermind 90% of City of Houston residents).David, Easy fix. Make sure the signal covers where the ppm pagers are located.
Not easy pickings.John Walton's widow would be pretty easy pickings, too.
No sir, not out of touch. You are simply out of your mind if you truly believe you can get away with what you are proposing. Buying out Roy Henderson is one thing, and I'm sure John Walton's widow would be pretty easy pickings, too. Getting HCB to go along with anything that will diminish or encroach on the coverage area of the main 105.7 signal is a whole 'nother ball game.
How does a station at 105.3 encroach on a station at 105.7? That shouldn’t be an issue.
