Art, I agree with much of your last post. The morning show, I will have on up until the first flash. That is typically while I am getting ready for work. Once I am in the car, if I want sports talk, I put on Sirius.
I do enjoy Dale and Holley thoroughly. Although I hardly have a chance to listen to them outside of my lunch break. They are the most informed hosts on the air and have more basic sports knowledge in one segment than the other three week day shows combined. I can't tell you how many times other shows have had to "look up" basic facts like who is pitching in two days or what time Saturday's game is, etc. Instead, Dale and Holley just know the answers.
The Big Show is listenable as long as LJ isn't on. Butch whines but I can handle him as long as the other hosts aren't horrible.
Planet Mikey is, ummmm, different. I love his random facts but it is hard to build a show around that.
On the weekends, Mike Munanski (sp) is great. The rest can go for a long walk on a short pier. The baseball show with McAdam is outstanding. He knows the game and can articulate it better than other hosts. Buckley and Adams are tough to listen to. Their analogies to the 1950's and earlier are awkward at times. I love learning about the history of the game but they seem to try to outdo each other with their name dropping from the past. It gets tedious.
The football show on Sunday mornings may be my favorite show. I'd love to get Holley on there with his inside connections to the Pats.
