Might the Universal deal be more likely if that is what she wants? The bottom line here is that Paramount is in play. If WBD doesn’t do a deal, NBCUniversal is also reportedly interested (word is that’s the deal Shari wants, but it would require selling CBS separately, which a deal with WDB wouldn’t.

WBD will own more stations. Zaslav will be the captain of a big ship.My head hurts. so TNT and other Turner nets will have another owner? how many is that in the last 10 years? Was this all part of the plan or did WBD quickly discover owning more tv networks is expensive?
Ah ok I read one of the sentences wrong in the article. How did cbs get in so much debt?WBD will own more stations. Zaslav will be the captain of a big ship.
They re-merged with Viacom. But that is not as much as WBD hasAh ok I read one of the sentences wrong in the article. How did cbs get in so much debt?

Viacom Is Having A Midlife Crisis I din't think remerging with Viacom in 2019 was that smart for CBS. This article was written in 2015, when Viacom was standalone and going downhill.Paramount+ is burning cash.

the movie and TV library? a portion of the NFL? they're already partners for March MadnessI am not sure why WBD would even want Paramount. They do not have much for them it doesn't look like.
Guess we’ll have to wait and see. WBD have been doing tax write offs lately so this could factor in as well but I do see the two spinning off assets or closing down unprofitable divisions to get into compliance with regulations.the more realist option is WBD buys off a spun off of Paramount Global CBS Network, their TV stations, their shares of the CW (which is little at this point and most likely sold off to Nextstar to give them full ownership of the remaining 25 percent of shares that CBS & WBD owns combined) a few of the cable network all while the rest of Paramount Global merges into NBCUniversal via Comcast buy out with Paramount Pictures going to NBC Universal.
