The 2026-2027 syndication thread

Outside of talk/game/reality programming, does any studio still produce live action TV series for direct to syndication sales? Early US TV was chock full of shows like "Sea Hunt," "Kit Carson," "Annie Oakley," Foreign Intrigue," Abbott and Costello," etc. I'm guessing it's cheaper to buy syndication rights to former network programming and/or talk/game/reality shows than pay for a new syndicated series.
I don't think first run syndication for scripted series is a thing anymore. Not enough of a market.

ESPN is ending the syndicated version of Good Morning Football (GMFB Overtime), Syndicated Version Cancelled: ESPN decided to cancel Good Morning Football: Overtime, the two-hour syndicated extension of the program. The syndicated spinoff, which aired on local channels and the Roku Channel, will not return for the upcoming 2026 season.

SSN Sports The Immortals are returning back in 2026-27 season for the 7th season in the fall 2026. Along with The Short List, Pure Outdoor, Invincible, & The Iconic | because SSN Sports The Short List are moving half-hour to Monday-Through-Friday strips in the broadcast syndication in the fall of September 2026.
