scottwmro said:How ignorant you are! AM stations in suburban areas are the ones who are sufffering end up selling out to an ethnic individual of group, and not serving the community. Another thing you don't know about me is about my personal income. "I TAKE A "0" INCOME FROM MY LITLLE BUSINESS"! My income comes from somewhere else. As long as it's paying it's way, I'm fine. Besides, this is just a side business for me, so don't come blasting you comments at me that I'm going broke when YOU don't even know me.
Yea, I know you tell us over and over and over again that you take no income from your station. How benevolent of you. And I'm not the one complaining about going broke, you are by whining about wanting a translator given to you. If your station is paying it's way and you are taking no income from it, what do you need a translator for?
Most suburban AM's are selling to the hispanics anyway and don't give me some B.S. that's filling a hole in the market or I need to program my station to fill a hole in the market. That's the LAST thing I want to hear.
Most? Which ones? I can count 10 suburban AMs that are not selling out to the Hispanics. Again, if you are not wanting to serve Gallatin, then why do you want to have a translator given to you? In other words, the last thing you want to hear is how to properly run a radio station? Considering that is how a radio station makes money, finding a need and filling it.
Oh by the way, I have a detail man come to me and cleans my car, and my wife's car. If I want to be in the car wash business, I buy the damn car wash and I can make it run itself with good empolyees and I don't have to touch it.
Very true, and if done properly you don't whine about government subsidising your soap like you are whining about wanting a translator given to you.
I know you would just love to buy this station. It would cost you more money that what you have to buy it, and if I wanted to sell it, I would be asking way well over a million or so. It's paid for, and I can sit on my ass without a single advertiser or sold program and keep it running. Your just jelious I have something you don't
First, it's spelled "jealous". And secondly, the day I'm "jealous" about a suburban radio station not making money and the owner whining about wanting a translator given to him, I'll get out of the business. I have owned stations in the past, and made money with some of them. I didn't need a translator given to me in order to accomplish that, either. BTW, you need to check with the Tennessee secretary of state. The FCC does not like to give licenses to non-existant companies. Also, I had a chance to listen to your station passing through the area on the way to Georgia a couple of days ago. You might want to consider investing in a decent processor.
***Gee, no wonder my blood pressure goes up. I have a friend whom is a retired broadcaster that lives in my community who told me to ignor folks like you before I have a stroke!
I see you didn't take his advice. And, it's spelled "ignore".
By the way, say all you want to say, I will not respond to your comments, and you can post all you want and be the one to look like a dumb a**.
[EDIT-inflammatory]
With all the misspellings and inflammatory comments edited out by our mod, I'm not the one looking like the jackass, Scott. You are the one that seems to fly off the handle with the least little amount of criticism aimed at you.
