The Arkansas Democrat Gazette article sums it up nicely. Kaiser was largely responsible for the Bob Dylan Center being in Tulsa. While Dylan didn't choose Tulsa himself, he reportedly wanted his museum somewhere in or near the Midwest because the coastal areas didn't need another attraction.
If you visit, the Democrat Gazette is correct that you can get an all day pass to both the Bob Dylan and the Woody Guthrie Centers. I didn't have time to do both, though, and you probably won't either if you're a fan of them. I didn't bother with the all day pass because I'm not a huge Guthrie fan. I haven't seen his center yet. The article also mentions Greenwood Rising, which covers the Tulsa Race Massacre, is within walking distance of the Bob Dylan and Woody Guthrie Centers. That's also worth a visit if you're there, and I'd recommend allocating an hour for that. I went to Greenwood Rising first, had lunch in the area, and went to the Dylan Center. The area has several good restaurants and drinking establishments. The Guthrie Green across the street used to have a concession stand with a full menu and often has food trucks lining the street to the east.
If you find yourself headed to the area and want recommendations, send me a PM. I go to Tulsa a few times a year and try to visit at least a handful of local places every visit.
