WPZZ 104.7 is indeed Gospel station and has a heck of a signal. northeastern NC gets it on a steady basis and towards Danville, Va as well

I know 104.7 is gospel now, but I seem to recall it was an R&B station some while back...

When listening to WRDU before it died and went to country, I would notice that it seemed strong almost seeming local up until moving just beyond Chapel Hill driving toward I-85. From that point moving west, one can tell it is transmitting much farther east than many of the other Triangle stations. Its signal falls off more rapidly just west of Chapel Hill but is listenable most days to Burlington or slightly beyond.

WRDU has a CP right now to move to Auburn. They are cutting their power to 27,500watts, good luck picking them up in Burlington.

WWMY has a horrible signal, one of the worst in the Triangle. That station can barely be heard on 95 in Smithfield, which isn't much more than 30 miles from its transmitter site.

It has trouble at the I-95/I-40 junction, and many other places around NC. That's why they have their simulcast in Goldsboro.

WNCT probably has a better signal, as that can be heard better than WWMY in many places around the Raleigh area and anywhere east.

power dosen't mean as much on FM as it does AM, granted more power usually equals better building penetration but thats about it....height matters most...going up almost 300 Ft in HAAT AND closer to the target market...this move will better serve them in the triangle.....by them moving further west it will probrably make them stronger....

WEJM 106.1 a LPFM in greensboro already has a hard time with WRDU as it sits now...during the summer mornings/evenings their 100 watt light bulb barely makes it 1 mile from the transmitter before WRDU gobbles them up.

even with G105 moving further east and dropping power they can still be heard as far west as Concord Nc on a daily basis

Noone has not said nothing about 102.5 out of Louisburg. Is that signal still gonna move into Triangle? What will happen to 102.5 one that make the move?
