No, WRVA definitely reaches three states regularly. Like I said earlier on in this post, on a early April afternoon this year, I picked up WRVA well all the way at the I-26/I-20 interchange just NW of Columbia, and I have picked it up in Charleston several times. They bring a good signal almost all the way down I-95 in NC, which is an accomplishment when it goes almost 185 miles in the state.
It only drops off usually close to South of the Border, and in the Lumberton area, it starts getting a little bit of interference from WGTN in Andrews, SC.
I haven't tested the signal to the west, but it probably has a good signal all the way into the Burlington area before it goes out.
Another one of the great signals from the Triangle and Pee Dee (Florence) areas is 95.7, WKML from Lumberton. About half the time, especially in the mornings in Charleston, I can pick up a good signal from them, with a signal in Orangeburg interfering. You can always hear them, along with 96.5 from Fayetteville all over the Grand Strand, and it doesn't usually drop out on 95 until about Manning.
Of course, 101.1 from Burlington has a great signal, also, covering both the Triad and the Triangle.

ive wondered the same thing. but somewheres, on the 'net i have seen that quote...but how reliable it is... thats beyond me.

Same CE told me that the station covers approx 10,226 sq miles.
Nobody has mentioned WMIT don't they have a killer signal? For an FM that is.

I have heard them near Raleigh a couple of times, but usually 106.9 in Southern Pines mixes in too much to tell it's The Light other times. And Foxy 107 doesn't help a lot up there either...

WMIT usually has a great signal to the south, as I have heard it many times around the Columbia area, but you have to really get north and northwest of Columbia before you start getting a good signal usually, because of WTCB in Orangeburg at 106.7.
They have a great signal because except for that station in Southern Pines, there is nothing on 106.9 until you get to the station on Hilton Head at 106.9.

Yeah a couple times when the conditions were right there was also rock on 106.9 from the Fox when we lived up there.
You can get them on Freeman Mill Road on a hot humid cloudy day before you crest the hill.
100.7 gets my vote.

106.9 in VA Beach is a beast....Has anyone picked up WPZZ 104.7 the tower is located off I-85 in Blackstone VA and I have it up with no problem in Raleigh and Durham and has picked it up almost in Washington DC.
WRVA is the strongest. I didn't see anything about WFXK 104.3 I think they get out good too.
