I've been listening to WWBA's "Big Show" since its inception and am I crazy or is Mike Reeves one of the most bitter announcers in Tampa Bay? He sure does seem like to complain at what others that are nationally syndicated make and really rails on past stations he's worked at. I know he's supposed to be the "liberal" side of the team, but the constant complaining- oh never mind that IS the liberal mind set anyhow. I've gotten to the point of tuning back to WFLA ..... or maybe I'm bitter for not being on a talk program ...he, he ,he

Why shouldn't he be. He was a big star on FM with an AM drive show and then PM drive. He gets "canned" from FM and winds up where he is. One time someone with his local credentials would havebeen picked up by another Fm'er, but it seems most of them are doing great with robojock in most time slots or Vt'ing somebody 9 hour a day.
As a former really bitter talk jock in Tampa I can say that it IS really easy to feel that way. But, when you look at everyone who has had success lately maybe being the "bitter angry left-leaning white guy" isn't the way to go?
It's a shame, but it's been a loooong time since Bob Lassiter took that role and won with it.

yea if mike reeves was off that show the ratings would probably go up quite a bit. after sunrise that is....

Upon re-reading my comment I hope it didn't come across like I was calling Mike Reeves the "angry white guy" because he never came across as angry on air when I heard the show. I just meant to say that maybe that isn't the best act for a new show nowadays...

Since CBS shows it can forgive Cledus T.Judd for going to CC in Atlanta, why not rehire Mike Reives for 98.7? He did do Hot AC on Mix. I think he'd be great for AM drive on Play.

What about Mike & JoJo for mornings at PLAY 98.7? We both put Mix 96 and KissFM on the air and on the map! We've been doing mornings for 20 years and who better to know how to get the ladies of Tampa bay to listen? We've been doing it for years...and we know how to work the PPM!

For the record...I've never been paid "Mason Money" (what ever that is) and I work two jobs just to keep my head above water. I would gladly work just one job if it would pay the bills. The key to radio's and my survival and your's too if your in it, is "Live & Local"! I didn't post to be a smart ass..I just want to make a decent living at something I've been doing all my life. If anything, you should be having my back on this.

"I just think it's bad form to advertise that you want out of your current gig"...I'm not saying that I want out of my current gig...I'm saying that, I don't have a contract and I'm open to talks with anyone. I still work at Newstalk 820...at least I did the last time I checked...of course that could change on a dime. That's why I keep my options open.
