The Boston Radio Market As A Whole

That's it...I'm calling BS on that statement. While they're sometimes (not often) "regional hits", most Top 40 programmers use national charts and research as tools to decide to add a record or not. Give me ONE example of Kiss or WJMN waiting 4 or 5 months to jump on a song other big market CHR's are playing.
By the way, the phrase is "just a fad", not fade. Please consider some grammar lessons.

Thanks, yeah all I know is that the sound of the music sounded fresh!

Hi,
I love this type of discussion. Thanks for keeping me in the loop about about radio in Boston. Very entertaining.
Just a question for the person who says that radio sounds fresher elsewhere...might it be because you have not heard that station before??

You didn't answer the question. When were those songs released? What big-market CHR's played them? When did Kiss/Jamn add them?

David is right...because you hate these stations, maybe you didn't hear these songs before now.
Back up your oft-repeated rants with some facts, please.

Last but not least, please stop the whining about the Telecom Act of 1996. There were FAR worse things to happen to radio, especially Docket 80-90, allowing unattended operation, allowing religious broadcasters to pollute the land with a gazillion translators that few people listen to, and the huge hike in obscenity fines.

Now that is quite possible, however back when I was listening to radio a whole lot more when I was younger, I almost always preferred the Providence stations to the Boston ones, and I was born and raised plus was living in Boston at the time. Now I live in a very nearby suburb instead.
