To just casually throw around serious accusations like this and then laugh it off is just wrong. Morally and legally.
You assert Hillary Supporters wouldn't appreciate her being called a witch. I agree. But THAT is probably far less offensive then you calling people involved in the IBOC decision CRIMINALS.
So it is moral to jam your neighbors? What about the legal principal of my freedom ending where yours begins. If I lived next door to you, I suppose you wouldn't mind if I dumped all of my trash on your property. Same thing as IBOC interference ---
Rbruce, I'm sorry, but it's not. The radio spectrum isn't really property. Also, the governing body has determined this is the new standard. They have the right to make that determination. I'm sorry. I understand you are very unhappy with what they have done, But it is nowhere near the same. I would point out that if there were no regulation prohibiting trash dumping on your property, it would have NO LEGAL PRINCIPLE. Sorry. You are just WRONG here.
Those involved in the IBOC are technically criminals.
No, they aren't. Foolish? Maybe. Short sighted? Maybe. Careless? Maybe. Criminal? Please name the title and section of the code they have violated. Again, while their decision may not be to your liking, it appears to have been done legally. Neither you or I am on any high podium to declare otherwise. Do these people have the right to pursue their lives without "YOU" publiclly proclaiming them criminals? I would think so. Check this mirror while you're at it.
The original mandate of the FRC was to prevent interference on the radio.
Actually I would ask that you show documentation of this. It was always my impression their job was to allow use of the spectrum for the public interest convieniience and necessity. A good case can be made that KKOB should never have been allowed because it interferes with WABC. Obviously the FCC felt local service in ABQ was more important than WABC in Colorado. Those "Criminals" escaped as well.
They have totally abandoned that mandate and therefore are violating the law under which the commission was formed.
Wow. A lot of ground gets covered in that one sentence.
At the very least, the FCC should be dissolved and a new agency created that adheres to the legal authority under which it was created - to prevent interference.
I would propose that the FCC has been delegated a good deal MORE "mandate" than interference prevention - Even if we were to grant you the highly dubious contention that "That was their mandate" in the first place.
I seriously doubt their original mandate included long distance carrier change complaints, Must Carry Cable TV channels or
reauctioning of Non Core TV specturm channels after the DTV conversion.
I would suggest that just maybe the actual "Mandate" of the FCC might be better understood by
them than you... Or Me.
The concept that they are "Criminals" is just wrong. No amount of outrage, or repeating this falsehood makes it any more so.
