The Danny Bonaduce Death Watch...

Not quite sure of the point of posting the 'minutes' of each show on the website. ???

I don't know what to make of that. Really.

Well, it would seem that Danny likes to read Danny's name as much as Danny can, given how many times Danny's name is displayed on Danny's show page. Danny. Danny Danny. That's probably why Danny's show is logged with everything Danny says or does on Danny's show every Danny-day. Danny. Also, Danny's voice is sooo Danny that not even Danny can listen to it, so Danny prefers to read the Danny.

You guys don't get it.The PD who formerly was a "boy wonder" and is now just a "2 share PD" only knows classic rock. His ego is so big that he will not allow it to move to an active/alt direction where it needs to go.
Maybe he can bring Howard back.LOL. Thats the only time he has won in his career.

I really have no idea who Rome is talking about... just say it man!!!

And I'm hearing from a source close to the market, that big changes are coming WYSP's way soon. Station hasn't made a dime in a long time. All numbers are awful. CBS has had enough!

If it's not this Monday coming up, it'll be next Monday. And it's about time!

Danny Bonaduce is proving Andy Warhol's Theory. However, Mr. Bonaduce's 15 minutes were up 15 years ago.

I think it's actually closer to 30 years ago. Since then it's been bad stunts, tranny hookers, and D.B.'s shameless self-promotion of his pathetic trainwreck life.

Greetings Stuart! Seems like forever since you visited TFWG...

as to how good or bad Danny sounds nowadays, I cannot comment because I don't live in that market. But back in the mid 90's when the great Jonathon Brandmeier gave him the hook up at the LOOP in Chicago, he truly was fun to listen to. He progressed from overnights to late nights to afternoon drive quite rapidly in a very fussy market. He worked his tail off to make his show better than the day before, always searching for the perfect bit. He cared about what the listeners thought about him. It sounds to me that after some years of moderate success he has lost touch with his audience and cares more about himself. What a shame.

That is a very accurate conclusion, jamie814, considering you're not in the market. As someone who is in the market and has suffered through several hours of The 'duce's attempt at a show, he is definitely out of touch, as seen by his recent last-place ratings. Also, from what you said, it was probably a stretch to think he could succeed in mornings. Overnights or late nights would have been a much better slot for his high-functioning brand of ranting and raving, although I doubt that would work in any time slot in the post-Stern era of terrestrial radio.

nothing went down today so how does it feel to be wrong ?

You don't have to be in the Delaware Valley to hear Danny, WYSP is available thru AOL CBS radio or if you only have dial-up thru Windows Media Player's radio section.

I'm sure Danny's going to be here for a while. 8)

Today Danny was very entertaining, especially the getting married bit, believe me being married for over 30 years, I know just where he is coming from, he hit the nail on the head... you begin to die as soon as you say I do.. :( I really don't know what is so good about P&S, they do the same rant over and over, the same stupid sexual jargon and rambling on and on, they are not very entertaining....I prefer music 24/7 with title and artist and if they use RDS, then forget the voice....

I failed to mention that my 'source close to the market' is BossJock1947. He's usually right on the money.

I don't know what happened. Maybe next Monday.

And Oasisrulz... really? You were entertained by some hacky bit about marriage? Go see any talentless stand up over 40, they all have the same routine about marriage.

Isn't that the same guy who said his friend from California "signed the papers" as Big Ron's replacement at WOGL...only to be proven absolutely WRONG when they hired Cadillac-Jack?

The operative word in the above quote is "today." You'd think after six months with two full-time assistants and a lifetime of experience to draw upon, The 'duce would be entertaining at least three days a week instead of one day out of half a year.

Agreed that P&S are horrible, but The 'duce has reached new depths of horrible, and moreover his last place ratings show that no one cares to hear his grating voice despite the fact that everybody knows his name. Radio, I believe, is actually one of the most difficult mediums to maintain interest on a daily basis because there is no video to distract from a lack of intelligent content, hence the reason there are actually so few radio personalities who break through into popular culture on a national level. You need a specific radio talent for that, as proven by the numerous celebrities who have failed to achieve anything on radio -- it's a lot harder than it sounds.
