Rock formats are down across the board. KUPD took a big hit in the fall - I don't know if this could have been because they were running on 75 percent power and battling technical problems (which have been fixed with the installation of a new transmitter late last month), or is the younger generation moving away from radio faster than the industry has figured. Modern Rock (Alternative) has been struggling across the country for much of this decade, and even heritage stations are going away (99X in Atlanta for example). Just to think, this month is the 15th Anniversary of The Edge (when you count all of its incarnations at 106.3, 106.3/100.3, and 103.9).

When your listening to that style of music, How does it make you feel good?
I have given those stations a listen and I hear in the lyrics a lot of Egotism and Im better than you and your lower than me attitude.
alway's singing about Fighting and scoring drugs and life on the streets selling drugs, or how many women I have "Boinked" and who knows who and all that crap.
Seriously sit down and listen to the lyrics.
Honestly I know 100% of the music does not sing about those subjects and there has been a FEW and let me state that clearly VERY FEW rap songs that I actually enjoyed.
But honestly probably 85 to 90% of the music is just attitude.
So how do you find enjoyment in that?
and the So-Called Comedy, its your usual gutter toilet humour are you not above that type of mentality?
Look around you, you don't see many places of business playing 98.3 or 101.5 in there respected places of business.
you want to know why? because it's offensive.
Business people and people of intelligence don't appear to be listeners of those stations.
the only people you seem to hear listening to this stuff is the young Not-Mature yet kids.
and it's usually the I want to be a gang member type!
Look how it's affecting the styles, you go to the mall and the clothes are just utter shit.
everythings HIP-HOP Bling Bling crap.
nothing I would ever consider buying.
and it's a shame that our civilization or should I say Lack of civilization is buying into this crap.
We can do so much better!
But maybe the powers that be want us to act and look like this.
keep us fighting and drugged up, so we don't see the real enemy and fight back and take our world back!
Hmmmmm Makes ya wonder

and then there were the songs that were about "Fighting the powers that be" not fighting each other.
Songs that cried out for change and to make a better world.
