KPTK is going to do just fine the next 4 years, just as conservative radio survived 8 years of Bush and Cheney. Stephanie Miller and crew give us a lot of laughs in the morning with Operation Take Back America ("We're not gonna take it anymore!"), and their impersonations of celebrities and politicians ("there's no business like show business"). Thom Hartman gives us information on the history of progressive politics in the United States, and discusses these issues with folks on the other side of the fence. Ed Schultz, Rachel Maddow and Randi Rhodes are all excellent hosts, the only one I don't care for is Mike Malloy. I'm surprised the FCC hasn't washed his mouth out with a bar of soap! I like John Elliot's show, but I'm usually asleep by the time it comes on. The only thing missing from KPTK's lineup is some local content. True, they have the garden show ("Let's get down and dirty") and Crash Talk on Saturday morning, but those hardly qualify as political. Hartman is from Portland, so occasionally he mentions things happening here in the Northwest, but that's about all.
