The Future Of WYSP?

WYSP has too much invested in the rock image right now to blow it up so quickly.
As for the O&A rumors, that's the worst thing that could happen to WYSP, not because of their history with O&A but because that's a step in the wrong direction. They're pushing the music angle so much that they need someone who can fit the humor and entertainment around the music like DeBella in the early WMMR days, Harvey, or Preston and Steve during their stay at Y100.

If they blew out Kid Chris I can't imagine them bringing on O&A although it would be a logical choice. They seem to maybe want to be more music intensive and they appeared to need a reason to fire Kidd Chris with cause.
Nothing surprises me with the CBS radio division since most of their decisions have been bad decisions over the last few years.

WYSP Sounds GREAT!
WYSP sounds GREAT! same hard rock, i heard The Cars on there this morning. i got it tuned in in the shop class. no talk, few commercials, good tunes. everyone else seemed to like it as well.
To WYSP: Keep It this Way!
let P&S bore the whole with talk (not that KC was boring, i actually liked the show, but music is better)
its a safe bet that WRFF is getting a little concerned

MMR should be the one to worry, RFF has its own nitch and crowd, they are the only ones playing new cuts, where else would you hear PATD, Simple Plan, Coldplay, D-Mode, Vampire Weekend, Blink, AFI, MGMT, new and old alike, all the other stations sound the same but RFF is completely different with their brand of music.....a change in any other station would not affect them....they have their own groove, that is unless someone else starts playing the same stuff...

yes, but RFF is the only one playiong music on weekday mornings (Till Now) but youre right, MMR is probably concerned because instead of listening to P&S talking about candybars, people will be rocking out with WYSP

You can't rule anything out, especially in this day and age. Just takes a couple of bucks, and I ain't talkin' deer, either! Think back to Kool 98.3, when they were WKTU-FM.

There is a giant hole for a second AC station in Philadelphia, but would CBS do it (they don't need the name "fresh" either)? Yes, B101 is a monster, but a cume of 1.9M is ripe for the picking.
