Certainly one of the founding fathers of rock & roll. "Nadine, honey is that you?"

I don’t think Chuck Berry recorded a bad, or a groaner recording. There are a couple of his slower tunes which I give little play, such as “Drifting Heart”, Havana Moon”, “I’ve Changed”, and “Time Was”, but I like the slow bluesy ones such as, “Wee Wee Hours”, “You Two”, and “Have Mercy Judge”.TheFonz said:GridLeakBias said:Chuck Berry.TheFonz said:GridLeakBias said:Rock & Roll is recognized by the heavy back-beat, i.e., accent on beats 2 and 4. Loved his "Wee Wee Hours". Great rock & roll song!

Little Richard and Jerry Lee Lewis old and decrepit.......still give 110%.

What's sad about Chuck Berry is that is great hits like "Sweet Little Sixteen, Johnny B Goode" etc, never got to #1.
Only "My Ding A Ling" achieved that stature. Sad IMO.

Even more incredible Fats Domino whose number of charted hits are second only to Elvis never had a #1. Those great Bartholomew lush arrangements and that great Nawlins' style...you could Jitterbug.....stroll.....do anything to Fats music.
Stay tuned, I have to run this like a Kasey Kasem Countdown.radioman148 said:I don't know the answer, but I'm anxious to find out.
GridLeakBias said:So nobody wants to touch the Chuck Berry trivia question, huh?
Well, that’s too bad, but there is still time left to enter.
First place prize: A fully loaded Cadillac Coup DeVille - a yellow convertible with a continental spare and wire chrome wheel; power steering, power brakes, powerful motor with a jet off-take; air conditioning, automatic heat, a full Murphy bed in the back seat; short-wave radio, TV and a phone (in case you need to talk to your baby when you’re riding alone), four carburetors and two straight exhausts (no matter what they cost), railroad air horns and a military spot … win the prize and that’s what you got.
Second place: A day pass to Berry Park at Wentzville and lunch at The Southern Air.
Third place: A broken down ragged Ford.
Trivia: CB recorded a tune on which he played an instrument other than his six string Gibson guitar.
Two part question: What was the instrument, and, what is the song title?
Sorry Silkie, not the answer I'm looking for. (Did Chuck actually play all these instruments on these recordings?)Silkie said:GridLeakBias said:So nobody wants to touch the Chuck Berry trivia question, huh?

Hint #2: The original of the tune in question was first recorded under a different title name.

Okay, my shot in the dark here is "You Never Can Tell", from the movies; knowing the lyrics to "C'est la vie", and the music to said song, I have to go with "C'est la vie", and he played the piano.
