I am surprised that none of my fellow night jocks are talking about the most desired night gig in radio. With Wacker leaving FLZ in Tampa that leaves nights at FLZ wide open! Like anybody who does radio it's my dream to work at FLZ. I sent a demo but didn't hear anything yet. Did anybody get a call? Any guesses on who the front runners are? Has anybody heard anything? It's killing me! ???
 
Will FLZ let him use instrumentals for music beds? Huh? Huh? Huh?
 
You are trying to tell me that out of all the night jocks in the world, the guy who does "booty attack" a bit from 2001 (that he ripped off) is up for that job?
 
I KNOW MO BOUNCE IS GETTING AN AUDITION. WASNT HE FIRED FROM FLZ A LONG TIME AGO? A KID NAMED JARED BANKS HAS BEEN FILLING IN SINCE WACKER LEFT AND HE SOUNDS PRETTY GOOD TO. I DONT KNOW IF HE IS UP FOR THE GIG.

Mo Bounce was never fired from FLZ. If I remember right he was an intern and a weekend/swing jock who left FLZ for a fulltime gig. I also heard that he was on last night on FLZ. So tonight I stream the station and there he is again. A little birdy told me Ratboy and Staypuff are auditioning Wed and Thurs night. Werent those guys interns of Mo Bounce when he was doing nights in Philly? Hmmmm makes me wonder if it will be a full show. What do you guys think?
 
I DONT THINK FLZ WOULD DO SOMETHING LIKE THAT. FLZ ALWAYS DOES ITS OWN THING. NOT THE SAME OLD STICK FROM BACK IN THE DAY. I HAVE NEVER HEARD RAT BOY AND STAYPUFF? I WILL HAVE TO LISTEN TOMORROW.

DOES ANYONE KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT JARED BANKS. I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF HIM BEFORE AND HE JUST SHOWS UP AT NIGHTS ON FLZ.
 
Jared is a good friend of mine, I used to work with him at 95.1 The Beat in Melbourne Fl. He was promotions coordinater and did weekends. He moved to Tampa when he got married and got a part time gig with FLZ. I know he spent countless hours airchecking with Kane and it obviously shows. The last time I listened to him was about a month ago and he has become a very solid and tight jock. I think he is there overnight guy now if i'm not mistaken. Either way he is one of the most laid back nicest people you will ever meet.

I look like I'm writing a personals ad for him...haha
 
So the FLZ webstream almost didnt work last night. Glad it did. Mo Bounce so has this gig in the bag. The guy is pretty damn good. I am enjoying watching this from the sideline. Tonight, I will also be listening to Ratboy and Staypuff to see how they do.
 
THERE IS A REASON THAT YOU ARE WATHING FROM THE SIDELINE AND I USUALLY DONT RESPOND TO WEB POSTS

Wow uhh alright, all I was saying was I think he sounded great. Wow Jared Banks you must really want that gig pretty bad if you get all defensive when you see someone saying someone else sounds good on the gig you want. Oh and dont give me that "I Aint Banks Crap" We all know its you. *Insert Your Denial In Next Posting* And reguardless who you are, where is your audition? I aint trying to get into it with you, but dont talk "s" like I dont know whats up. Fact of the matter is the FLZ gig is currently the most sought after gig in the country right now. As for Ratboy and Staypuff. Those guys sound like a pretty good duo. Mo Bounce sounds creative and isnt boring. Who are you to say Ratboy and Staypuff sound like this and Mo Bounce sounds like that? Once again, let me hear you on your audition. Let us critique you before you throw your 2 cents in before you talk down about the guys who actually have a chance of landing the gig. Theres no need to hate. Whomever gets the gig, good luck to ya.

I LISTEN TO THE STATION ON LINE FROM CT. AND HAVE BEEN OUT OF RADIO FOR A NUMBER OR YEARS. PART OF THE REASON IS I GOT FED UP WITH ALL THE TALKING HEADS THAT THINK THEY KNOW WHAT IS BEST FOR THE INDUSTRY BUT ALL THEY DO IS TALK ON WEB BOARDS AND GOSSIP.

IF IS WAS JARED BANKS I WOULD BE PRETTY SHALLOW AND ARROGANT TO BE POSTING SOMETHING ABOUT MYSELF ON A WEB PAGE IN THE 3RD PERSON. PRETTY LOW. BUT SINCE YOU KNOW ALL ABOUT IT I GUESS THE BIG MYSTERY IS SOLVED.

FLZ IS A DREAM FOR ANY JOCK IN THE BUSINESS. ONE I WILL NEVER GET TO. I JUST DONT HAVE THE STUFF. WHO EVER GETS THE JOB IS WELL DESERVING. IT IS NOT A GIG I AM SURE CC WILL HAND OVER TO JUST ANYONE. BUT I AM SURE YOU ALREADY KNEW THAT TOO.

Least you admit you dont have the material to get the FLZ gig and I will admit I dont either. Yet I am not on here being judgemental (in a bad way) now am I? Oh wait, yes I am. Another thing, how are we supposed to know you arent Banks, you've praised him on all your other 5 or 6 postings.

Actually, Ratboy and Staypuff have only had one gig in radio - parttime at Q102/Philly. That's it.
 
I was told from a source that they are down to the final five.
4 of the names on the list are what you expect, but there is one name that would blow this whole thing apart because he sounds nothing like the rest. Someone earlier mentioned that he expected something diffrent, something unique from FLZ not the same old guys from nightjocks.com.
There is one but I wouldn't hold my breath. He won't get it.
 
The person who said the list was down to five candidates was right. Here's an email I received from Tommy Chuck, the PD at 'FLZ.

Thank you so much for your interest in the night opening at 933FLZ in Tampa Bay. I believe that responding to all applicants and letting them know where they stand is the right thing to do. Over the past week, I have narrowed down the list to my Top 5 candidates. Unfortunately, you did not make that list. Rest assured that your demo DID get listened to and evaluated fairly. Please don't let this information get you down. This is a position that the best of the best have applied for and the competition was tough. There are a lot of great air personalities who will not be getting this job. I can only hire one.

As you move forward in your career, please stay in touch and let me know how I can help. The next time an opening comes up at WFLZ, I hope your interest will still be high.

As far as the candidates, here's my guess as to who they are:

Mo' Bounce- KXXM/ San Antonio
Rat Boy and Stay Puff- WIOQ/ Philadelphia
CJ- WIBT/ Charlotte
Brett Andrews- KZCH/ Wichita
Jared Banks- WFLZ/ Tampa

And by the way, "hair," are you going to come with any new material anytime soon? Just asking, because if your on-air show is as boring as your posts on this board, I feel sorry for your market. :-[
