If it weren't for the too-forward consonants of take #1, I'd prefer it above all. The consonants are about 4dB too hot. Yet, takes 2 and 3 were too warm; however it did balance out the sibilance somewhat. I like the more natural bass response of take 1, and that mic also seems to have the best air and transient response. Geez, if only the T's and S's weren't so forward. The sibilance is so bad on take 4, I'd be concerned about limiter punchouts on the program line.
If you're not gonna lower the consonants in take 1, I'd have to go with Goat's ranking. Call me Anal Retentive, but I'd use #1 and manually knock the consonants into place. On the other hand, I have the time, and Jeff may not.
