Maybe it was I heard one of the on air guys say that while in the bay area last night. So I guess he was wrong! Sorry! This station might do well during the day
but at night they should just go off the air.

No, you DON'T have to subscribe. KPIG has been available for several years at Shoutcast/Winamp for free, save a several month hiatus during the copyright fiasco. It's been back at least a couple of years. The KPIG websight doesn't let you know it's there, however, I suspect because of some sort of marketing agreement with Real RadioPass.

No, you DON'T have to subscribe. KPIG has been available for several years at Shoutcast/Winamp for free, save a several month hiatus during the copyright fiasco. It's a horrible signal...unless you're a seagull on the ocean or a ship at sea...it's very directional out to SF and the Pacific with 8000 watts daytime and a lousy 230 watts a night - I believe a hamster in a wheel powers the nighttime transmitter.
The towers are on a building on West Grand Avenue in Oakland right before you get onto the Bay Bridge.

Do the math, 2% circulation on the Bay Bridge traffic count alone would net more listeners that their two FM's do. I think this is more about passion than money, though. Anybody remember passion??????
