Watcher: A number of veterans have been keeping their options open for sometime. However you have the main anchor team made up of people who either grew up in the Rochester area, or have families here and don't, or can't afford to move elsewhere at this time. It all boils down to the simple common dominator that the owners and managers at WROC do not give one iota about their staff. All they are interested in is the bottom line. If they could get trained monkeys to deliver the news and report stories they would hire them in a New York minute. (No offense meant to the current staff at Channel 8; I am just using an example here). Speaking of the anchor team, with the exception of Scott H, from what I heard from an employee at 8, who has worked there for many years, the two main news anchors took pay cuts as part of their current contracts. Whether that is true or not is between those people and Nexstar. But if history is any guide, we all are aware that several former employees were offered less money during contract renewal time, which might have been the reason some of them left the station, either on their own fruition or were shown the front door.
