The Most Annoying Commercial Of All Time

I would like to nominate the following spot for the Most Annoying Commercial Of All Time:

"Freedhem, the One-Application Hemorrhoidal Cream!"
"Freedhem, the One-Application Hemorrhoidal Cream!"
"Freedhem, the One-Application Hemorrhoidal Cream!"

It's a 15-second spot that turns up on CNN and other cable channels. Just a still picture of the product with a voice-over that sounds looped. I'm sure it's a wonderful and effective product but that commercial is horrid.

Two more--"More Ovaltine Please" and the Sonic spots with the ditzy couples in the car carrying on mindless prattle about the various menu items.

I would like to nominate Wendy's "Ranch Tooth" advert.
I change the channel when it comes on.
(I am not going to bother you with annoying local adverts.)
______________

It takes some getting used to. Everytime it airs, how many of us flash back to Johnnie Cochran flexing his hand in the infamous glove and delivering the original line, "If it doesn't fit, you must acquit." Fo shizzle.

VEHIX.COM and The Toe-Nail Fungus one

Those awfully produced VEHIX.COM commercials they air on all channels of Comcast.

And the sickening Nail fungus one with that green blob who goes inside the disgusting nail.

Great commercial to air at dinner time <gag>

A little violent are we?

You might want to talk to someone about that...

(Sorry to post - off topic -)

Blame it on Digger the Dermatophyte and his nail fungus.>

Just replace the Zs with Ts in that, and you have my general feelings about making advertising more hip-hop.

I can't even stand the current McDonalds spots for more than three seconds.

Re: Vonage Broadband and Wellpatch:The Two Worst Commercials

I will nominate two commercials as being the worst.

The Vonage Broadband commercials where while people are doing stupid stunts, this stupid guy starts singing "Whoo Hoo Whoo Hoo Hoo Hoo" ad nauseam.

The Wellpatch commercial where the guy who looks like Kevin James of The King Of Queens sings "Wellpatch, getcha where it hurts, wella","Lasts a long time with it,wella." "Wellpatch, getcha back to Wellpatch."

Stupidity and horrible singing reigns supreme.

That "Overstock.com" commercial with the stupid blonde bimbo. I find the repetitive "It's all about the (insert whatever)" lines from that commercial rather annoying. I'd like to slap that silly woman upside the head every time that stupid commercial comes on.

And I don't understand why she appears to be naked at the end. What exactly does that site sell? Never really felt it worth my while to visit that site to find out.

I forgot about the ad for The Lion King.
They guy yelling is annoying and upsets the dog.
______________

My nomination Is the ad for a male sexual enhancement drug where this “dweeb” is always smiling. The last line in the ad always cracks me up. “If you experience an erection lasting more than four hours seek medical help”. Right… I can imagine some guy walking into an hospital emergency department with a boner saying he needs help immediately, while there are critically ill patients waiting for treatment.
______________
"I won't be wronged, I won't be insulted and I won't be laid a hand on.
I don't do these things to other people and I expect the same from them".

The spots for the Six Flags theme parks, with the old bald dork acting and looking unnecessarily dorkish.

A bit off topic, but the radio spot for "My Name is Earl" that seems to feature every tiny market morning zoo with the doofus, the opinionated chick and the 30-something male host. Honestly, I may stop watching NBC because of this assinine spot.

Re: VEHIX.COM

I MUTE the VEHIX.COM spot when it comes on. That repetitive sound track drives me nuts. It would make me Google for VEHIX.COM competition if I were buying a car.
VEHIX has to be the worst.

As I have said in the past, when I first saw the Vonage commercials, the impression I got was "people do stupid things, like sign up for broadband phone service". It wasn't until the fifth or sixth time I saw it that I realized they were selling that service; I wonder how many of their potential customers get the same wrong impression?

Certainly makes you wonder if the creative team at the agency did enough testing before releasing the spots for air ...

Off-topic, but related: I have a friend who works at SBC in the residential customer service call center. One day, he got a call from a (former) customer who switched to Vonage, only to discover that when Vonage ported the phone number over it caused a disconnect order in SBC's system, which took out the DSL the customer had used to connect to Vonage! Result: No dial tone at all, and the customer found out -- the hard way -- that you can't have DSL from the local phone company without having your phone service through them as well ...
______________

> “If you experience an erection lasting more than four hours seek medical help”.

Someone did a parody of these ads and their take on this line was,"If you experience an erection lasting more than four hours...call all your friends and brag!"

A lot of guys would consider being in that condition a true gift.
