First Jerry Thomas, then Gary Burbank announces his year long retirement party and now The "PROF"? 2006-2007 has been a tumultuous year in radio and no end in sight.
 
I don't think he fits the current Classic Hits format anyway. I bet there are more staffers on the way out in the near future.
 
I have never heard those big words that were used before. I had to look up the meaning of them. Please refrain from using big words alot of ppl dont know the meaning too. Just say he is retiring not use emeritus. I have never in my life heard that word before.

He really didn't sound comfortable playing "Space Oddity" and "Dream On". A lot of oldies jocks never got over the fact that Bobby Vee and The Chiffons just aren't relevant anymore, so they never evolved with radio.
 
CUMULUS Oldies WGRR/CINCINNATI PD KEITH MITCHELL will return to the airwaves next TUESDAY (4/3), in afternoon drive. [EDIT]

MITCHELL inherits the afternoon slot from JIM LaBARBARA and will continue as PD.

Jim LaBarbra knows more about radio, music, artists and Cincinnati than virtually every poster to this board. Cumulus management truly has it's head up it's a**. Nothing against Keith Mitchell, he's a solid air talent in his own right, liked him on MOJO. But he's not gonna fill Jim's shoes. This is truly an end of an era in Queen City radio. Best of luck Prof! I certainly hope someone else has the foresight to pick you up and get you back on the air. Like NOW!!!

So, let me get this straight... when someone says something positive about someone on this board... someone maybe you personally have a problem with, that person just has to be an anomaly? Maybe AmericanRumorBoy worked with Jim and - shocking - liked the guy! Imagine that.

And someone show me where it says Jim retired. I haven't seen that anywhere... except in an assumption by RumourMonger.

blah blah blah... but when someone says something positive about CC they get vilified.
