The New CW San Diego

Does it really matter where CW ends up? Given the fact the network is hemorraging money and has putrid ratings, the more relevant question is whether CW is going to be around for the long term?

I think the interest is not so much where CW ends up, but what happens to XETV, because they will need some kind of programming, and my guess is, if they don't pick up CW, they'll just move MyNetworkTV over and shut off 13/49 (since that has a weak signal). XETV has a LONG storied history in San Diego, as an ABC affiliate, Independent, and as Fox. Fox was the number 1 network this season, so this is a tremendous loss for 6!

XETV getting MyNetworkTV is basically like Fox giving them a consolation prize. I wouldn't be too sure that 6 wants Fox's "sloppy-seconds", especially with the way this situation is turning out. Stranger things have happened...it's probably going to either CW, going Indy, or turning Spanish. One thing that My has going for them compared to Fox or The CW, is that they're less restrictive over programming preemptions.

Without a network, 6 can not survive in '08 as an English station in San Diego. KUSI has already fill-in the "news television" gap (if one can call it that). I think that MyNetworkTV's fortunes will be turning around very soon now that they have won the rights to WWE Smackdown. People will remember "MyTV6" better than they will "MyTV13/49" or plain old "TV6." My money is on MyNetworkTV on 6 if they don't get CW. Speculation? Yes, but it's a smart guess in my view.

Unfortunately, I think you're right. KSWB has been running Fox 5 San Diego promos very heavily. Fox 6 has been doing nothing in anticipation of the inevitable change. C'mon XETV... take CW and be happy with it! Are we going to be subject to KTLA in San Diego County once again? It's definitely looking like it. Prove me wrong. (and I know some people 'don't care about CW'... okay... fine if it was 1952.)

A viewer in north county San Diego County... near the Orange Co line.

Wrong. Do not pass go, do not collect $200.

Never underestimate the parent company of Bay City Television.

You're the second person today to deny me $200!
What is it with you people?

I'm NEVER wrong, (someone isn't reading my Facebook page). :p
