No Nine Nine, I'm not confused I know what I'm listening too LMFAO, it's reversed KIOO has more music, my antenna 25 feet only gets KIOO (NOT KKDJ) and KDNO 98.5 Bakersfield The Fox which also has more songs than KKDJ, and even more than 95.7.

KJFX 95.7 has more music than this station, Don't get KKDJ in my house, only in the SUV in my driveway, not going on my roof to get KKDJ not worth it.

You are really misinformed kjfx has a tiny library like kioo they only play about 250 songs
 
I visited KPHD once- remember having a smoke with Magnificent Montegue on the outside open veranda- I think it was the top floor- if it wasn't I was way up there

Yep - the top. Had a killer production studio thanks to DC for the Great American Country era and a tiny booth for Rock 96 at the outset. JBLs in the automation room could rock the building or at least frighten off the pigeons from the veranda. I remember one of the all night guys getting locked out and taking a fire axe to break the door down. Lots of stories from decades past that could only happen in a building like that.

I was up there on the top floor at Rock 96 KYNO-FM back in 1979, a DJ gave me a tour of the studio, I was 18.

79....About the time they flipped to 96 Disco? McKai was doing mornings then, wasn’t she?

That station couldn’t hold a format, but that was also the plan for so long. Test this. Test that.

IN 1979, I was 18 and I lived here all of my life, read the fkn post. know more about Fresno radio and the ORIGINAL KKDJ than you would ever know, verne why don't we here Early New Wave, like Rock Lobster, KKDJ was the first to play it and had more variety of rock, this station is a cookie cutter classic rock with the same repeats over,over and over NO KKDJ

You would have to ask mr White as he controls the music or his wife she is mainly involved with the music. I would be careful as he is a really nice guy but is very upset by what you and others have put about him and his partner on this forum

Yes I remember that, 96 Disco lasted what 4-5 Months and then it became Top 40 like KYNO-AM 1300, In 1980 KYNO-AM was AC 40 for a little while, then Oldies.

Also to add to that I remember when 1300 went A/C in 1980 there were two weekly playlist at the record stores, and later Just 96 FM, KYNOs official change from AM to FM lol.

Cant remember other than Danny Romero who made the transition from AM to FM. Anyone??? Nick Alexander went from AM to FM to launch 96, but never was on air and was let go...

Of course, JLW got caught up in the last big payola scandal at KYNO FM.. Only time KYNO got press in the New York Times...

Really flamed out... Sad end to a legend that was The Big 13.

Very sad John Lee told me he owned Kkdj now I find out mr Cocola and mr white are the owners I guess it was really good of them to give him a chance back on the air I wonder what happened? Anyone know why he was fired
 
Delivery Report 99.7 Verses 99.7 well went to North and Cedar at the new Food Bank, went north on 99 from north well no can't do that do to that stupid train,got on at to north 99 at central, the point is, that KIOO was perfect all the way in to South Fresno and Down Town Fresno all the way to 180, KKDJ didnt come on til north of McKinley, btw I drove though the tp spill on 41 I past it 5 minutes before the road was closed LMFAO
 
When I said "Stupid Train" I was referring to High Speed Rail blockage, not our good friends Southern Pacific and Santa Fe, which on North Street you cross all of them at once, I would say more about HSR but I won't fn expensive as hell and going up up up stupid
