The new Kkdj

Actually I talked with Mr Richard Singleton about a position in Engineering they are offering a great compensation package . According to Mr Singleton the Vice President of the Company they are doing quite well and are seeking to purchase a couple other stations in the area. Desperation not at all !! Go look at their operation both on Palm at Herndon and in the Old Security bank bldg downtown!! The VP told me when I was applying for the engineering position that they have no debt service no loans and they are very cash rich I bet many of the others can’t say that!

The station just barely began and has no ratings. It can't possibly have much in the way of good rate sales, as buyers hammer new stations on rates while they are trying to prove themselves.

In radio, everyone has cash going in. Most of them have no cash after the first year.

There are 77 signals in the market, and 9 are translators. Ther are 6 LPFMs. There are 42 commercial stations excluding the translators. There are 16 non-coms, too. All of them looking for time buys or sponsorships. How prosperous is a 180 watt translator at 88 feet and which covers less than a quarter of the metro going to be? It's like taking a Yugo to a drag race....

Who have you talked to Mr Cocola or Mr White ? They are doing quite well from what I have seen I think you need to contact them and get the correct information before you say something you know nothing about . When the other stations are in Bankruptcy they are very cash rich and doing well . You should not print a statement that is not true and factual
Not a money guy myself. Don't really need to know how tax write offs work, but perhaps Mr. Cacola benefits in some way by throwing $ in a black hole.

It's amazing the sad state of radio, when the only thing being discussed (or should I say arguing about) is a over a translator with a giant playlist. In radio terms- a big playlist with thousands of songs unfocused= few listeners= most people would say a lot of bad songs.

That's what the radio business is nowadays. Throwing money down a black hole. I-heart radio I hear is not doing very well financially. Radio is not like it used to be, especially with us being able to play/save our songs onto a USB and plugging them into the car. I think live talk radio, or sports is about the only thing keeping radio afloat. Music........forgetaboutit!

iHeart is very profitable based on operations. It problems are totally caused by having incurred too much debt and not being able to pay the resulting debt service.

In general, over the radio is doing well for a non-growth industry, but stations and groups have to find a way to move solidly into new media. However, that depends on creating a profitable business model and if Pandora and Spotify can't make money in the sector, there will have to be further changes in how audio entertainment is consumed and paid for.

Any business expense is, in a sense, a "tax write off" since businesses are taxed only on the differences between costs of operation and income. So the light bill, donations, salaries, other taxes, and all the other costs of running a radio stations are deducted from income and only what is left over, called "profit", is taxed.

Yeah some others told me it was at your house . It’s definately not Mr White I was at his house 4 weeks ago saw his studio and the antennas on his roof are all uhf TV antennas would be really hard to transmit on those . I saw the studio he has lots of equipment two control boards but definitely no transmitter anywhere .

It was 94.7, he was trying to make us think that signal was from Firebaugh, LMFAO, and he did use 95.3 and 87.9 also.
Don’t think so I have met him I asked him about what I had read in the past on here he said it was BS , he said come to my house I’ll show you my studio I followed him home no transmitter anywhere but two very nice consoles and a lot of audio and video equipment

I remember sending Verne an email one night when he was running a Pirate years ago. Played Chuck Berry for me in a couple minutes time. The Pirate died around Cedar at that time. Signal then seemed to come from Sierra and Willow, which would put it over by his FCC mailing address. Whatever.

One Saturday Night driving to Target at Herndon and Willow, maybe 10 years ago or less I was listening to The Chris Edwards Show on 94.7 very strong in that neighborhood, at one point I drove East from Willow on West Los Altos and near Adler it blocked 94.9 completely, It was off the air the next day.

Caught the pirate today on Willow playing some obscure R&R, but so good.

Get honest here - we all have a format in mind and would love to launch something to where we could share something that would never work commercially.

Engineer1 - what happened to Uncle Joe. Damn, the only reason I ever listened to "KKDJ the imitator" and now it's gone. You go to Alaska and it's poof...
