The new Kkdj

Caught the pirate today on Willow playing some obscure R&R, but so good.

Get honest here - we all have a format in mind and would love to launch something to where we could share something that would never work commercially.

Engineer1 - what happened to Uncle Joe. Damn, the only reason I ever listened to "KKDJ the imitator" and now it's gone. You go to Alaska and it's poof...
I have no clue other than being an interested party I don’t have anything to do with Kkdj call Mr Cocola or Mr White I’m sure they would be glad to tell you. Alaska? I have no clue what you mean?

Uncle Joe is back on tonight - started around 5:40... Classic Rock for those who actually are interested in the story behind the music.

While I don't always agree with Verne's tactics, I am thankful that for a few hours there is something worth listening to for those of us who grew up on this stuff or, like me, programmed FM radio in the early 70's, when music actually mattered. It may be music by a bunch of dead guys or nearly dead for those who're nearly dead (at least in the eyes of a media buyer), the deep tracks and stories make it all worthwhile.

Yes good olives, but I spell olives O-B-E-R-T-I like Al Radka used to say.
And on reception from Crabwell Corner I left out FM, a channel on every Freq from many markets including Bakersfield, SLO, Visalia-Tulare, Fresno, and even Los Angeles like 95.5 KLOS.

And don't forget Kenrayc's Bootlegg 93.3 Clovis, Pixley, Hooterville, and great music from his cassettes LMFAO

Amen Brother I just heard that Uncle Joe Ultimate show tonight for the first time I normally don't listen after 5 wow you are so right It's really good!! Is that a local show or national show can't tell? Who is Verne I have met a Chris White, never met Mr Cocola but want to, but have never met this Verne fellow?

I was listening to "Renegrade" by Styx on KKDJ 99.7, wanted to see the video so I turned on TV 27.1 and it was showing "In The Summertime" by Mungo Jerry, Why are they different???

The new kkdj

Oh Ya I just saw Dean's announce. Cool!
Maybe Deano can bring in a new character:: engineer1 with an occasion report on whats happening' in the world of Fresno broadcast media. He could read highlights from the Central Valley Radio Discussions.

Awesome, and I hook up my VHF/UHF antenna today to my TV, Comcast cut the lines to 2 antennas when installing new cable, like 2-3 years ago, The FM cross-bar Ant. was never affected, anyways, KKDJ TV 27.1 plays Classic Videos, 60s, 70s and 80s, and I can see why Its different from the FM, music video have dialogue that wouldn't make since just listening on FM, I guess they try to match the audio version on FM.

Maybe 20 years ago I had that experience with Comcast/Xfinity- installer cut the connectors off all the cables coming into a central distribution box! What?!?! I was PO'd! F U Comcast@ Did I give you permission to cut my in-home distribution set-up?? NO!!

Ya that's for sure, Comcast thinks that you have us now you don't need your Antenna, ya right, there are so many stations NOT on Cable or SAT/AT&T, like most of Cocola Broadcasting stations like Antenna TV, KKDJ 27.1, and many others, and also ABC 30 Classic Sit-Com channel 30.3 "LAFF"and many more.

I cut the cord from Directv about 8 years ago, and Comcast 5 years before that. I am happy with the antenna! I even get 29 and 58 out of Bakersfield sometimes. I get well over 100 channels for free! NEVER will I go back to Comcast! They suck!

Wow Dean Opperman live this morning on Kkdj he said a lot of the original Dj s are coming back! The show was awesome hats off to Mr Cocola and Mr White for brining him back.

The show this am was a little rough. Good they are only doing radio starting tomorrow. Change up the music and let’s get Aunt Penny’s Fair Food menu up and running! Welcome back Dean.

Deans rant at 7:15 about corporate radio was spot on,calling out the FOX,iHart and cumulus by name was classic. You would’ve thought that JO being a local guy would have been receptive to Dean if Dean actually approached him which I have no doubt he did. With Dean at the helm they are headed in the right direction but need a few things,IMO they need to

1- For the love of god, dump the voice tracked Athena (Jenn Lipp,Jody Jo and Athena, 3/5 worst female radio personalities I’ve ever heard)

2- Ask Doug Ray if he would be interested and hire a legit air staff

3- Continue the KKDJ music influences ( She Shelia by the Producers was classic on Tuesday)

4- Go out and get a full power stick

Let’s hear your thoughts

Should be #1. Otherwise I totally agree.

I know it's the wrong station, but I think E. Curtis Johnson might be available.

1. Good bye: Athena; any of the original Classic Rock imaging (Homer Simpson included); the original music library and the three hr rotation for Lido Shuffle; the Drive at Five that appears to meet White's need for air time.

2. Bring on more 80's - this isn't a Classic Rock station. KKDJ NEVER was.

3. Fix the stream ASAP. Today, it's 20 minutes behind the actual feed. WTH. Get a new website - geez.

4. Gary should buy 98.3, it's just sitting there, and lets get something that works to legitimize the station.

Break all that's there and start over.

Technical Report
K259CF Modification To Non-adjacent Channel
Waiver of §74.1233(a)(1) Requested
An interference complaint has been lodged against the licensed
K259CF facility by 1st adjacent channel station KCIV, Mount Bullion, CA (FCC ID #6504
). This non-adjacent channel change is filed to resolve that complaint and
a waiver of §74.1233(a)(1) is requested to permit the change to channel 272 (102.3 mHz). I
f the Commission determines that a waiver will not be granted, it is requested that action on this application
be withheld until the Commission takes action on MB Docket No. 18-119 wherein the Commission has proposed to amend the rules to permit such non-a
djacent channel changes to resolve interference complaints. Since the Commission originally proposed the rule change and the comments were overwhelmingly supportive
it seems logical that this change will be adopted.
This technical report is submitted for a minor modification to K259CF, FCC file no. BLFT-20180306AAR. A non-adjacent move to channel 272 with
corresponding changes in antenna and ERP are submitted. The translator will continue to serve as a non fill-in facility to rebroadcast KYAF(FM) 234A at Firebaugh, CA,
FCC facility I.D. 9993. K259CF Modification Analysis:An overlap study (exhibit E-1) shows the K259CF modification to channel 272 is within the KHGE(FM) 274B and KLB
N(FM) 270B second adjacent protected contours. Using the vertical elevation pattern of the Nicom BKG88 four bay, 0.85 wavelength spaced antenna (exhibit E-2), the
+40 F(50-10) dBu contours within the protected Anderson Associates Broadcast Consultants contours are shown in exhibits E-3 and E-4. The +40 F(50-10) dBu contour within the
lower KLBN(FM) protected contour (exhibit E-4) lowest point = 3.5 meters above the site elevation which does not reach any buildings, roads or population, as shown in the
aerial photo and street view in exhibits E-5 and E-6. As a non fill-in translator, an HAAT calculation is included in exhibit E-7 and shows the highest of the 12 rad
ials is 56 meters using the 03 second USGS terrain data, At 75 watts ERP, the modification is below the maximum permitted ERP for a non-fill-in translator, following the rul
es provided in CFR §74.1235(b)(2).
A plot of the 60 dBu contour relative to the primary KYAF(FM) 60 dBu contour and overlap to the current K259CF 60 dBu contour is shown in exhibit E-8.
Antenna System:K259CF is located on the existing tower 34 meter tower at coordinates:
36 47 56N 119 47 24W NAD 27.
A TOWAIR determination (exhibit E-9) shows the tower does not require registration. A Nicom BKG88 four bay, 0.85 wavelength spaced nondirectional ant
enna will be mounted at a COR AGL of 30 meters, 126 meters AMSL and operate at 0.075 kW ERP.
RF Exposure Calculation:The RF contribution was calculated using the formula from the OET Bulletin 65:
S (RF in microwatts/cm2) = 33.4 x F2 x (H ERP + V ERP in watts) R2 (height of radiation center in meters -2m)
Using a worst case vertical (F) factor of 1.0, the RF is calculated to be 6.39 μW/cm2 to the ground, which is below 5% of the 200 μW/cm
2 maximum permissible for general public exposure allowing exclusion from consideration. Anderson Associates Broadcast Consultants
Conclusion:
It is concluded the K259CF modification complies with all Commission rules and policies.

Who is Verne I have met a Chris White, never met Mr Cocola but want to, but have never met this Verne fellow?

The comedy stylings of Engineer1, ladies and gentlemen.
