Compared to Seattle, where I used to work, Portland is tremendous. The AC and HOT/AC stations in Seattle are lame musically and promotionally compared to the AC and HOT/AC in Portland. Charlie is better than JACK, same with Classic Hits Same is true on the CHR side of the dial. Z-100 smokes KBKS. MOVIN in Seattle has declined too. On the AM band KEX and KXL are news operations with real personality in this ladies view, though I am not a big AM listener. I also find the postings on the Oregon thread of radio-info more informative and less dull. There are fewer posts and less crap. I tried to post on the Seattle board for about a year, but ended up getting bashed or linked to idiot posters. I quit Seattle radio, have made my last post on the Seattle boards and LOVE it in Portland. The city is nicer too, downtown is much better, you have light rail and the restaurants here are better than Seattle's. Portland is a big city with a small town feel, whether shopping at Washington Square, walking through downtown shopping, OMSI, even the suburbs have more character. I love being able to drive 40 miles to the Wineries outside of McMinnville. Portland is hardly ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ. Try living up north and you'll see what a great town it is. Mt Hood is AWESOME, snowboarding is a hell of a lot better that what you find outside of Seattle. Anyone else come Seattle and find this market actually more interesting?
