The Price is Wrong, B***h!!!!

Right...and they'd have to edit airings of "The Indian in the Cupboard" (and various other movies) because there are a couple shots of
the Twin Towers in them.

A yearly festival, the Big E in Springfield, MA is currently running radio
spots where someone imagines himself (or someone else) "having a great time
in New Orleans. It's Mardi Gras time!" I'm not sure if anyone noticed, and am
guessing those spots were created several weeks ago.
______________

Didn't they end up retiring the Simpson's episode where Homer walks between the Twin Towers to find a restroom while his car is "clubbed"?

I'm sure CBS didn't even think to pre-screen TPIR to check for a reference to New Orleans.nor should they have.
______________

I'll have to plead ignorance here too...I would've never guessed TPIR aired reruns. Then again, I'm not at home everyday to watch.
______________

Only for a couple of years or so. After that, stations started to air that episode again.
Edited by rugrats1 on 09/10/05 09:46 PM.

Not at all, though I've heard that rumor countless times. I've seen it multiple times since 9/11, and with only the original syndicated edits in place. I've heard reports that some stations run a version with the towers edited out, which must make the sales staff happy with the extra time to sell. Never seen that version of the episode though.

Since The Simpsons is now a cash show in syndication instead of barter, it's up to individual stations to determine whether or not to air the episode.

Speaking of which, there's always the "Streetcar" episode of The Simpsons, with the hilarious song poking fun at New Orleans. I'm sure we'll be hearing calls for stations to ban that episode, too....

...as welll as "The Simpsons Spinoff Showcase", which featured "Chief Wiggum, P.I.", set in New Orleans.

I thought the "Goodbye" episode of 8 Simple Rules was one of the best written pieces of TV I've seen in years. The scene where Katey Segal's character was reading Paul's final article to the kids was a highlight. It almost seemed like John Ritter actually wrote it before he passed away.
______________

As I understand most(if not all) game shows tape a week's worth(5 shows) in one day. TPIR also airs the occasional primetime edition.
______________

Case in point, the 1976 version of King Kong. Will it ever be shown on TV again or see the light of day on DVD? Scenes in the first Spider-Man movie had to be reshot or re-edited. As I recall the original trailers were pulled from theaters because the twin towers were visible in the background.
______________

I saw it on TV at least a couple of times since 9/11.
