It's a weak signal in the middle of three cities (York, Harrisburg, & Lancaster) and the signal doesn't really cover any perfectly clearly. Different formats have been tried on the frequency over the years and none really cleans house with ratings and I don't think any ever will. Hall should have been satisfied with the marginal numbers they got with smooth jazz. The station had a loyal following and I noticed the ad load always was pretty decent; I think a lot were cross-sales with WROZ. Just look at all the distraught fans posting on their Facebook page. Any other format they try will get around the same numbers. Am I wrong? Laugh at the format all you like, but it was the classiest format in central PA other than NPR. Very sad to lose the format. Been on since 2004. I suggest a struggling AM'er pick up the format. They wouldn't even have to do it in-house like WSJW did. They could just pick up the smooth jazz network feed off the bird. Maybe WLAN-AM would be a good candidate? An AM station in Reno, Nevada picked up smooth jazz when the big FM station went off.
