The Project 106.3 100.7

Let the speculating begin! I can pick up almost all of the Cinci stations from my bedroom in Miamisburg (near the Dayton Mall), won't be able to pick up either of these though with them only being translators. :/

CC must be watching these boards that's for certain. I would be surprised if they launch Alternative on either of those translators since it would bite into WEBN's audience. Let's see if the comedy project sticks or if they try an urban format since 100.7 is right next to 101.1 The Wiz. Maybe they will bring back Urban Adult which was on 100.3 when it went on the air.

Well CC launched an alternative, 99x, in Cleveland on the 99.1 translator in an effort to serve as a value-added buy for rocker WMMS. Whether this cannibalizes or adds sales to WMMS is yet to be found, so alternative could happen. Mind you it runs PC 24/7 and is completely jockless.

Clear Channel is working on launching a 24/7 Comedy format on many stations across the US... I could see them doing that with these translators.

Comedy was done in this market once, as an April Fools Joke on 55KRC Comedy. I think I have a cassette from that day somewhere. I really wish the FCC would go back to the x-amount of stations per market cap. Translators in this market? Really???

I'm hearing Bel Biv Devoe Poison right now. They were playing country earlier. They appear to be stunting with 80's music, which could still lead to comedy since the website still says Cincinnati's Comedy project.

I remember that. It was during the LMA Ctiticasters had with Jacor. Why are they even bothering with these low powered translators since no one knows about them anyway? The FCC really dropped the ball allowing this loophole, rebroadcasting these HD 2 stations on translators. LPFM would better serve the community.

It doesn't "fill the void" for new alternative rock as much as Chuck Frederick thinks it does. 96ROCK has been doing a pretty good job with the format for the last few years. And it's all Premium Choice, so you're hearing the same songs (a much smaller playlist than 96ROCK, in my opinion) and same DJ's at the same time in Dayton, Louisville, Columubus, and elsewhere.

If Clear Channel were serious, they would have put Alternative on 102.7. Riverfest would have been the perfect occasion to launch The Project on 102.7.

Sounds wayyyyyy better than the usual PC feed CC uses for their Alternative stations. Not as much active rock as PC. Perhaps they're on a different part of the playlist, but whatever it is, it sounds great!

I listened off and on Sat morning and afternoon and I have to say I was very happy with what I heard - old school 97x type tunes mixed with some new alternative sounds. It is nice to get the in car and hear The Cure and Radiohead, well done so far CC.
