The Project 106.3 100.7

If Clear Channel were serious, they would have put Alternative on 102.7. Riverfest would have been the perfect occasion to launch The Project on 102.7.
Blow up the heritage rocker on the station's semi-official birthday? The natives would riot.

You know how much Cincinnatians fear change and all...

Maybe 10, 15 years ago there would be riots in the streets, Today I'm not so sure if anyone other than their P1's would care, and many of them have moved on to their I pods for their AC/DC Skynard & Metallica fix.

They may not be Premium Choice right now, but I have a feeling they will be down the road. Same thing they did with 106.7 in Columbus (an actual FM station and not an HD-2 station like The Project). X106.7 had their own playlist at the start, and after a month or two went Premium Choice. Ratings went down after they did that (though I doubt The Project will show up in ratings).

I really hope not, but I think they eventually will as well. It's definitely one of the better commercial Alternative stations, despite being a bit heavy on gold material.

Does anyone have the "iPhone" direct link for this station? iHeart's buffer on a browser is terrible and i like using winamp.

"a bit" is the understatement of the year. They are rotating some gold titles almost as much as currents.

Otherwise, it's certainly not a "narrow" alternative station - for now.

Finally showing up in monthly Arbitron ratings. Three month trend 0.8-0.8-0.9, pulled ahead of Adult Alternative WNKU for the "Holiday" period.

Does this mean Kidd Chris leaves WEBN and heads back to the Project?

They have an application pending to move the 106.3 signal north to the WLW site, change the frequency to 95.5, and some other changes that will give them better coverage to the north.

Greg that's not what it says. Read it again more closely.

Yeah, it's more complex with that. I'm not all that concerned with programming.

It's part of a larger translator swap.

So 106.3 is still moving, per This to a tower at 1211 W SHARON RD.

No. 106.3 is already on that Sharon Road tower. This application is really a call letter swap and a new frequency to replace another silent translator. Read the exhibits.

I'm trying to understand the "plan" and only getting more confused reading the FCC app. ;D

1.) Does this mean that Project 106.3 will remain "status-quo" with no moves to another tower, etc?
2.) Does this also mean that the new 95.5 frequency will be broadcasting from the 96.5 tower in Mason and another CC programed format will be there?
Just a speculation but maybe this will be where CC places a simulcast of 55 'KRC to cover the northern suburbs (which makes no sense since the signal is excellent in these parts.)
Additional thoughts on point #2?
Thanks!

Wonder when CC is going to fire up 95.5 in Mason?
Now that I've figured out what they are doing (musical translators) with 106.3 the question is what will they program and/or simulcast on the new frequency of 95.5. It wont' really get into downtown and/or Dayton so whats the best use of this signal?
Also, guess we who listen to The Project on 106.3 should see no change whatsoever in terms of signal coverage since the tower location doesn't really change.
