The ratings are out and-

KIDD CHRIS?!?!?! HOW DARE YOU!

HAHA, it's okay, I know what you mean Feeball. If, The Zone's current target audience is males between 18-34, then you are right feeball, they need more younger personalities instead of an old washed up failed political talk show hosts like McIntyre who tries to be a shockjock by bragging about how he cheated on his wife and saying other things that I wont say here. And one more thing about McInytre, I dont think he could ever be a political talker in Pittsburgh again because people will never take him seriously after he converted to being a shock jock. I mean, that would be like Howad Stern deciding to just do politics, regardless whether you find him funny or not, you couldn't take him seriously! Nuff about McIntyre.......sorry I had to vent as well.

But feeball is right. I fall within the 18-34 age range category and I think a lot of males my age would rather hear people like Kidd Chris (even though I would rather listen to static) than people like Dennis Miller. I like Dennis Miller, but he is more geared to older males.

Like I said, I don't know if The Zone is targeting all men or just 18-34 year olds. If it is 18-34 year old then they should reconsider their talent, but if it is geared too all men 18-99, then I think their lineup as of now is fine except for McIntyre who the only place he should get air time is on the Penn Dot traffic advisory station.

This message will repeat........

I can't believe I typed Kidd Chris either. :D

Note to Keith Clark, never bring back Kidd Chris for middays, afternoons, weeknights, weekends, or even place him on Y108 for that matter. Glad to see Ron Man landed on Y108 as The Kooter. Wonder where the other former K Rock on-air people will end up?

Has anyone heard the weekend stuff they got now? I listened to a little bit of Cigar Dave and the entire time I listened I wanted to drink a couple Martinis.

I fall on the lower end of the 18-34 demographic and I didn't find Kidd Chris to be entertaining. All of these young talkers (Rover, Kidd Chris, JV and Elvis) do absolutely nothing for me. Give me Ron and Fez or Maxwell, now those are radio shows.

Would CBS Radio panic over Star's latest rating and flip the station before, say, the end of the summer? For some reason I think they would wait and flip it until the books get really, really bad. If history repeats itself, that's exactly what will happen.

Speaking of Bob FM, I have looked at the numbers and have seen a little bit of trickling downward in numbers from book-to-book. Now that 3WS has tweaked their playlist, could that also be affecting Bob as well?

As bad of an idea I thought it was for 3WS to change their playlist, it has turned out to be quite well.

WAMO took a hit in their ratings, don't know if it really means anything.

105.9 the X and WDVE were both able to gain a bit from K Rock's departure.

The Zone is in neutral right now. It will take more than a couple of books to positively identify where they stand.

I think a format flip for 100.7 is inevitable. I heard a couple of rumours speculating on Young Country or Smooth Jazz, and that's definitely within the realm of possibility. More so for Young Country, I think.

As for the 3WS format tweak, it's definitely helped their cause. I heard a lot of negative talk as far as that went, but having listened to it, I think they're moving in the right direction. The format almost sounds now what they used to sound like before 1988, when they first flipped to all-Oldies. Dropping the Oldies moniker definitely helped.

For WAMO, the numbers didn't mean anything then, and they don't now.

What's the difference between Young Country and what WDSY and the Frogs play now?

I would actually listen to an "Old Country" station (i.e. Loretta Lynn, Johnny Cash, anything from 1985 or earlier) but I know I'm an eensy minority in this opinion.
