"THE SPORTS HUB" IS BORN

The callers have all sounded like regular folk too. I know it's early but you aren't getting the regulars who sounded scripted on WEEI. They even sound like a younger group. So far I've heard one guy try to give Felger a hard time, and he handled it well. Again, it's still early but Felger seems like he's toned it down a little.
 
I'm just happy to have a station where the reception is probably going to be reliable. Nighttime reception of 'EEI, even though if I got on my roof (if I physically could do that) I could see their antennas, is spotty at best and I'm just out of range of the FM stations.

And they started at 3AM ya say! Damn, I wish *I* had nothing better to do with my time like some people!
And then what happened? Nothing? Bet you're glad ya stayed up for THAT!

What else ya think they'll be doing? Maybe talking about sports? That'll be new and different!

When ya think we'll get ANOTHER sports station? Can't wait!

another sports station? Fine with me... As much as he's full of himself, I'd rather hear Felgy than Smerlas, DeOssie and Johnson and I imagine you'll be hearing quite a bit of the first two now that football is back. And it'll be good to have an alternative to D&C.
 
Today's Herald said that the Pats game would be on "WBZ-FM 98.5" in a story on the Pats, though in "Sports on the Air" they said it would be on "WBCN-FM 104.1". A story about the new Sports Hub also said that Toucher and
Rich would debut today at 6 pm on 98.5 and tomorrow 98.5 would have the Pats game (nice try; the game is
TONIGHT).

Has it ever occurred to you that some people (especially those who work in THIS business) might just be up at that hour ANYWAY? Not everyone gets to work a comfy 9-to-5...

They still have fix up the website a little bit, but I have no complaints about the station itself. I'm a little confused about some of the programming. Felger and Maz go from 2-6, but I've seen a few different time slots for D.A. Some say he's 7-12, some 6-10, and I think I saw 7-10? Which is right? If he starts at 7, are they running a recap in the 6PM hour? Does anyone know what's going to be on in the overnight?

They also seem like they're billing real commercials already. I was expecting to hear the same commercials I hear on SirusXM, the low money Get Out of Debt, Tax Debt, and male performance pills.
 
well damon is on 6-11pm mon-fri and sporting news radio will be on from 12-6am like in baltimore, but today he did the first overnight shift after the patriots preseason game last night. which was good so he could get his first air shift out of the way. i think the station has technical issues to work out but will do fine inthe end!!!! :)

I heard about 10 min's of Fel/Maz and a they took back-to-back regulars John from Medford and the Fall River guy. They told both to "go home"--meaning 'EEI--with some kind of sound effect.

So I assume it's part of their (first week?) policy to can chronic callers (I actually like John). Hopefully that applies to Frank-Gloucester and the others. Let them hang with M&J on Yankee talk.

If they are really not taking calls from the 'EEI one trick ponies, especially Steve from Fall River, I may listen, especially on days when Lame Larry Lardass is on Ordway's show. But, didn't Mazz issue an invitation, in his column, to Danny from Quincy (perhaps the worst of all of them) to call their show?

If Felger is behaving, I'm betting it won't last. He is an insipid ass and can't change his stripes.
 
I only have the first day of 98.5 "The Sports Hub" record on a cassette tape and it lasted 30 minutes, this was recorded on my iPod Touch using AOL Radio app. I don't have the launch of 98.5 "Sports Hub", sorry! I only have one aircheck of the first day. I will be posting it soon.
 
Really weird to hear John Wallach's very familiar voice on a new strange station.
 
I hope they don't have the same yahoo callers calling in. The Whiner Line, has made way to many idiots think people want to hear them all the time. I know every show will get their share of regular callers, but the screeners have to do a good job of keeping the morons off. I like how Toucher and Rich used the Instant Feedback. That is a way regulars can chime in and Fred or Rich can read the points worth making. I hope the other shows use that once it's up and running.
