It takes awhile and satellite never sounds perfect. WLIP in Kenosha ran WW1 standards from 1996 or so until the end of 2003. It would always cut in the middle of songs when coming back from stopset as well as several other problems. At the end of 2003 they changed their satellite service to ABC's Memories format. For the first couple of weeks they had no local commercials, no liners, and LOTS of dead air. After they fixed it up, it got very smooth sounding and much better. Then over the 4th of July weekend this year they did a weekend oldies special. Then after that they spent the first couple of days after the 4th running local oldies. Then they launched ABC's Oldies Radio on the station. The satellite change went pretty well. It took a while to get it sounding 100% perfect but as of now, the station sounds very good. It hasn't sounded this smooth in a long time.
Then in Wausau, WI there was WOFM-94.7 Mosinee and WIZD-99.9 Rudolph. Both stations simmulcasted local oldies for a good while. A couple weeks ago they seperated both stations. WIZD went local as "99.9 WIZD" with the same DJs and cloned cut/pasted jingles. WOFM went to Westwood One oldies as "94.7 Cool FM" with the most obviously and horribly sounding cloned jingles I ever heard in my life. They basically took the jingles from their past 2 oldies set ups and pasted them together. Sometimes it drops out and runs just bare satellite with no liners at all. Nobody is sure if this is going to last or not.
Here is a sample of WOFM:
