The Ticket no longer on 1700??

For some reason, the signal contour map I saw of the higher power isn't much bigger than it is now. Lower elevation at the tower maybe to protect others on 1310? I know the purpose of the upgrade is for better office building penetration downtown.

AM uses the entire tower as the antenna there is no "lower elevation". They are getting a power increase to help with signal fade and noise (power lines and bridges). You are correct about better penetration into buildings, but usually there is so much electrical interference in buildings that unless your radio is near a window reception is pretty much out of the question.

1310 just now went off the air for "tower maintenance." The FM is still up.

Could this be the day?

They have been off (and on) the last several nights.

They're back on 1310

Maybe it is just me, but 1310 seems a lot stronger this morning.

1:25am and the little ticket is off again on again tonight but there has been no board op "official announcement" the station will off the air as has happened the last few nights.

When the power-up happens, I'm sure the Ticket will have a "major announcement" at 7:30 ... about the time the daytime signal would fire up. With lots of promos afterward.

I hope it helps us up here in Big Sky Country. 1310 is still iffy north of Collin county in places and 1700 did a good job up here. 104.1 seems to chop off around state hwy 121 for the most part depending on the weather. Probably not much billing up here but some of us do listen.
