The VIBE will be broadcasting on the Highway stations after Midnight

Looks like Vibe is staying alive from Midnight to 4am on the highway station 99.7FM Las Vegas, NV. Why can't LA have one Dance Station besides Pride Radio 104.3 HD2. I just don't get it! ???

103.1 also has a Dance format on its HD2 but its just a CD loop repeating every 2 hours. I would figure if 92.7 based in Thousand Oaks would ever get a buyer it would make a perfect dance station. But more than likely I dont see it happing with KIIS and AMP. Pride Radio actually sounds good.

Pride radio is to mix with Disco, top40 music nowadays. Also 103.1 HD2 is not on air when I drive into the LA. It's just on 103.1 HD1.

We do have Pride Radio in New York (on WKTU-HD2 - 103.5) but in comparison to the standard 'KTU, there really isn't that much difference. It may be a "step up" but for New York, if there can't be anything yet on standard radio, then give us something on HD! I know that Clint Dantinne (sorry if i misspelt), who was at Super 91.7 in Wilmington, DE is trying to get "Dance Radio Network" somewhere.

Or hey, I'll be "ballsy", GIVE ME something on HD2. I'll guarantee innovation, that's for sure, especially that HD stations aren't making money anyway.

Yah I was wondering this when I was in OC a couple months ago, most of the HD2's were coming in on my lil HD2 portable thingie, but not 103.1HD2, the one I was looking fwd to hearing..

I guess its off the air for good. Not really missing that much. They would play the same CD over and over. The HD signal drops even in dowtown and driving on the 405 north and south.

It'll be on all 3 Highway stations collectively branded as "FM 98 or FM 99. The Highway Stations" 98.1, 98.9, and 99.7. It'll be heard almost to LA.

Almost impossible to hear the Highway Stations anywhere near LA. The signal fades out right before the Cajon Pass. I can get it in parts of Wrightwood and Mt High Ski Resort area. But there's always online, I guess.

I wonder if they will still have their News and Traffic reports while they are broadcasting The Vibe.

The Highway Stations, 98.1, 98.9, and 99.7, were launched to serve the drivers on I-15 between LA and Vegas. When FM 98 and 99 initially launched, there were no other FM stations audible on I-15 past Barstow. The Highway Stations were a monopoly. It was expensive to advertise on the LA stations, so the Highway Stations became the best place for the Vegas casinos to advertise to southern Californians that were already heading to Vegas.

Now of course there are more stations along the I-15 corridor. There are 2 other formats on the Highway Stations, Highway Rock and Highway Country. The regular format of FM 98 and 99 is AC.

It would be nice if 99.7 could flip to the Highway Vibe format permanently. 99.7 has a booster in Vegas closer to the Strip than 94.5. 94.5 The Vibe must have been turning a profit since it was run on the cheap, but I guess Jelli made them an offer they couldn't refuse.

I have some fondness towards the Highway Stations, many years ago driving between Vegas and LA I remember getting stuck on I-15 due to an accident for hours and the Highway Stations kept me informed about the traffic and played music I liked.

It's too bad they can't start The Vibe simulcast a little earlier like 9p or 10p. I guess the purpose is more to serve the people IN Vegas more so than the commuters as most people want to be ON the strip at those hours, not driving to it.

Not the smartest move unless you really trust your car.

...so something BIG is happening to the Vibe.... Anyone with any insights? Playing teasers on the stream.......perhaps full time on the Highway?

The Vibe goes 24/7 on the Highway Stations. Can The Vibe of Vegas be picked up in Vegas? Great stream!!

There's a booster in Henderson to boost the 99.7 signal in Vegas.

I guess that The Highway Vibe was performing better than the AC format. I'm so happy I wanna go to Vegas and drive to LA!

what is a highway station?? ???

Exactly what I've been secretly wondering. Whatever insanity they're up to in Las Vegas, hopefully it'll spread across the US so we could all have highway stations!
